That is correct. Several counties are also named after royal governors and queens, and our state flag is the only heraldic one.

Because I am Jewish, it is very unlikely that there are any significant British ancestors in my family. The bulk of US Jews have German and Russian heritage. I am, however, adopted, and my blood is a completely open question. I have often wondered how people interpret my facial features as to my ethnic background in Europe.

I wish I knew, but there are DNA tests that can place your mitochondrial DNA in general regions of the world.

Of course, as I'm sure you are well aware, we are all Ethiopians.
