Have I ever mentioned how much I despise cleanup? :lol:

I particularly hate it because I have to wash dishes by hand. One of the reasons my cooking is simple is to keep the cleanup low. Do I really want to use _____ to make this, since it'll be one more thing to wash? is a regular question I pose myself as I fling together a pot of slop dinner.

I dream of a dishwasher the way normal guys dream of a fast car...

It's funny--I remember thinking dishwashers are pointless for someone living alone. Then, while doing live-in caretaking of a house, I decided to try the dishwasher. Just to try it. And I found myself addicted within a very short time.

I love the Zen of clean-up...although every time we have what seems to be the simplest pasta meal, I never understand how it took every dish in the house to get a one dish meal.

We have no DW, because I didn't want one and I have never regretted my choice.

I know what you mean about the Zen of clean up. Part of my issue is I'm s bit anal about how my kitchen gets put back together. If spice jars are cleaned and fingerprints on my refrigerator are gone and.....all that stuff. :eek:

I'm letting go. Deep breaths now Vannie...in and out.

We have one and I have never turned it on or turned any dishwasher on in the past 35+ years.

In my 20s when I lived with my ex I did use it but figured out that by the time I rinsed them before loading I could have just as easily washed them and saved alot of time, energy and water.

All of our dishes are done and put away within 1/2 hour of finishing a meal. It is a part of my "living in the present" obsession. I hate wasting my valuable time and space in my brain thinking of what I "need to do". It is much nicer just doing it and not thinking about it again.
