Attention What are you having for dinner?

Fusion cooking: about 5oz (142 grams) leftover roast turkey meat, and some of its broth, and half a jar of canned turkey gravy. Jerk curry sauce. A small box of couscous. One matzo ball. Soba noodles, kelp (seaweed). Small amount of kasha, small amount of mung beans. Yum!
 
I just can't get steak right when I try to broil it or skillet it at home. And the smoke can get strong enough to set off the smoke alarm, which will irk the neighbors.
One of my pet peeves. It really should be law that every residential dwelling should have a proper exhaust fan/system that vents outside in all kitchens. Some houses and apartments have no outside venting at all.

Sometimes they use those charcoal tumbler systems that catch grease and then become a fire hazard after a while. I still remember seeing apartment kitchens that had a gas stove installed in the middle of a wall with no exhaust and some not even a hood above.

You need some high heat to get a good sear on a steak or other meats and foods.
 
Cooked the steak on a skillet and fried the tomatoes and garlic and onion in a pan with a knob of butter and it was good :drool:

Fresh tomatoes with garlic and onion make an awesome quick pasta sauce. And the butter just enriches the fresh tomato flavor. A long with some fresh ground people and basil. Good bye heavy tomato sauce. :drool:

Oh, I have an exhaust fan over the stove, and I think it even vents to the outdoors eventually. But it can only do so much ...
