Attention What are you having for dinner?

Baby back ribs, carrots and brussel sprouts

Last night was home made chili with corn chips, cheddar and sour cream. Yum, yum. Tonight is chicken chimichangas, yellow saffron rice and home made refried beans.

I made meatballs in brown gravy a couple of nights ago. Frozen Home style meat balls. They are little, a bit over an inch. I get the big bag and divvy it up into meal size vac bags. Ok. A pack of Pioneer gravy mix. But with 2 cups of water, not 1.5 cups, brought to a boil. Gravy mix whisked into a full cup, not a half cup of water and then added to the boiling water. It thickened up nicely.
Added the thawed meatballs and a fake gold dollar coin of spaghetti broken into thirds. Some of Top Secret Recipe's pepper blend. A little more water. Turn to low and other than a couple of stirs it was just waiting for the pasta to cook.
No leftovers. The dogs were not amused. But I did let them lick the pot.

Tonight is No Clue Yet.

I love brussel sprouts lately, I can’t get enough. Apollo would probably eat them if I gave him some. He’ll eat anything
Haven't had fresh ones in a while. Been buying those steam in the bag ones that are not as good as fresh but not bad.

Had some Chicken Vegetable Potstickers yesterday.Had a huge bag in the freezer from Costco we weren't using. They give you packets of dipping sauce that needed some help. I added a little sugar and toasted sesame oil. Not bad.

Made a quick fried rice to go with them with garlic scallions and peas. And added a few scrambled eggs to that along with a bit of soy.

I figured out tonight's gruel.

Fettuccine fake Alfredo. Toss in a can of tuna.

So, super fancy mac-n-cheese. But easy to make.

I'd be happy with a can of vienna sausage and a few saltines. But. Duty calls. I got away with giving him a TV dinner last night..... gotta space that out, ya know?

Just got back home from a 10 day road trip vacation (holiday for your foreigners). Lots of eating whatever i wanted. So this eve just had a steamed (bag) of cauliflower dipped in picante sauce.

I've been home from the vacation for 1 week. Stepped on the scale for the first time since before the vacation. So I just had 2 bags (mixed veggies and broccoli & cauliflower) of steamed veggies for dinner. Yep, guess I should only have vegetables for my evening meal for the next several days!

Had roast chicken, baked potatoes and fresh green beans.

Our neighbors made a homemade spicy pumpkin roll with cream cheese frosting that was so good.

It's windy. It's chilly and rainy out.

I'm poaching a whole chicken for chicken soup

Lots of chunks of carrots and celery. And later some nice wide egg noodles to slurp.

kthanxbye

Not sure what dinner will be, but it will be something warm... Fall is definitely here--meteorological (as of 9/1), the calendar (today), and last--but not least--the cold, icky weather outside today.

I was thinking I should have gotten the supplies for soup.

Although I did get a new supply of chili powder, so I'm ready to embrace the chili rut again. Actually, I got both regular chili powder (a staple item), and also a package of chili seasoning that was on clearance. I sometimes use the seasoning packages, partly, I guess, as remembrance of the past (that was all my mother ever used). This package is a brand I've never used, and I have a feeling it's a more premium product. At less than fifty cents on clearance, why not try it? Although that will probably wait for some other night.
