Attention What are you having for dinner?

A juicy 16 ounce sizzling New York strip steak with garlic compound butter.

A big baked potato with sour cream and chives.

Grilled asparagus with lemon.

Chocolate mousse with fresh whipped cream.

:^o

One of our classic Saturday suppers.

Baked beans with debreziners and coleslaw.

And a piece of cake that I should have resisted getting (but obviously didn't resist) when I passed by the day old bakery shelf.
That reminds me...last Friday I was in the grocery store. Near the checkout stands was a table of slices of carrot cake. Carrot cake is a favorite of mine along with german chocolate cake. Anyway, that slice of cake was $4. I did the math and a whole cake would be $32! I pretty sure the store bakery just thaws a pre-made and frozen cake and slices it up to sell. I decided to pass on that cake.

Ham and scalloped potatoes and a tossed salad.

The weather is turning warmer so soon I will be cooking on the grill - so I want to eat up the "winter food" I have in the freezer.

Some cold Prime rib slices with Caesar salad.

I'm thinking we thought it might be a bit warmer today that it turned out to be.....

Love a good carrot cake. There used to be a frozen oblong carrot cake by Oregon Farms brand in the grocers freezer that was good. My Mom would buy it for company and defrost it.

But that might have been late mid to late 70's

Yikes!

Homemade even better with delicious cream cheese frosting. :p

I buy a slice of cheesecake once in a while on takeout. They charge me $7.00. And it it literally and 2 bite sliver.

Delivery pizza because I’m very lazy right now and just feel like fuck the diet

Yet another Amy's Asian Stir-Fry. With a salad.

Now sipping on after dinner port, which sounds classy, but the port in question from California. That dusty bottle, from a fine port house with centuries of history, does not fit my budget.

Do you mean something shaped like this. My local Dillon's store (it's a Kroger brand store) has these in pumpkin, red velvet, carrot cake, and confetti (no idea what that is). But the pumpkin and carrot cake are seasonal.

Around the holidays Costco carries Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake in the freezer section. It is pre-sliced and costs about $14 so just over a dollar a slice.

Each year I will buy one and the wrap up the pieces individually and put them back in the freezer. That way I can take out 1 at a time when I am crazing cheesecake. Is it as good as fresh made restaurant cheesecake? No. But it is pretty damn good and satisfies the urge.
