I used to cook plain sweet potatoes somewhat regularly, although I used a microwave when it still worked. (RIP microwave.) I imagine oven roasting works better, but I tend to keep daily cooking activities fast these days.

Got an order of Hot and Sour Soup and Mu Shu Pork...

It was delicious - but damn their prices are up since I last went there!

Roasting them really intensifies the flavor. So good. But they are still delicious in the micro.

We had sandwiches last night. Some kind of Cajun turkey breast with pepper jack cheese. Green leaf lettuce and tomato and some mayonnaise with extra horseradish. Spicy.

Had some good garlic pickles and I did a homemade pumpkin pie and whipped cream for dessert with coffee.

Starting to feel cold outside so craving winter food.

Made a pot roast, mashed potatoes and tossed salad.

Pigs feet in pan drippings brown gravy, sweet potatoes with rock sugar, collard greens with 3 ham hocks, cheddar jalapeno corn bread with hot honey whipped butter. Takes me all day to make this deal because collard greens are bitter unless you cook them for hours.
This Latino guy will throw down with any black Southern granny who steps up.

I actually had two delivery pizzas from a local place that has won Ohio’s best pizza award. One small pierogie pizza and a small New York style pepperoni and mushroom.

Last night we made pizza from scratch, pepperoni, black olives and burrata cheese. My guy made me blueberry pancakes, bacon and eggs for brunch. Now he is making shepherds pie for dinner all from scratch. He is a cooking machine. He is also making biscotti with apricots, dried tart cherries and pistachios. Yum, yum.
