Allow me to say a few words about this song herry1.

Lynn Anderson's version of "Rose Garden" was released in the fall of 1970, and became an International Hit. It topped the charts in so many countries that Casey Kasem's new radio show, "American Top 40", gave Rose Garden a special buildup before airing.

If my memory serves, Rose Garden, for the rest of the 20th century remained The Biggest Crossover Hit in Country Music History. Only a few male country music artists and No Other female country music artists came close to matching Lynn Anderson's musical achievement. Depending on how you track the industry, "Rose Garden" still remains one of the most successful country crossover recordings of All-Time.

And the timing was perfect. Lynn's voice and the beautiful orchestration created a song that, along with Three Dog Night's "Joy to the World", made Christmas of 1970 a very special celebration for me and my family.

I've always admired artists who sound better live than on their albums, so it's a mystery to me how it took me this long to discover the miracle that is Andrea Bocelli. Basically I'm listening to all of his songs at the moment, but here's his most famous one:

Before anyone asks, the man with the voice of liquid gold is blind, that's why he 'looks so weird sometimes' as one of the commenters put it. Not sure what Sarah Brightman's excuse is though.

He also collaborates a lot with more modern musicians with mostly fascinating results. This one has really opened my eyes/ears to the wonderful voice this young lady actually possesses:
