I did the same thing, and so many people have it too now. I attach bright yarn pom-poms on all of mine, makes it easy to spot also.
 
^your old friend must be young and not very aware of people around him and their emotions.

As to red, I dn't know about easy ID butt, a
few trips and you will appear a serious traveler. Over 25 yrs of planes 2-3-4 times a week, my travel pros were still great. I kept the biggest and smallest. Loaned (so to speak) them to my son. He still swears by them. Hope yours do as well.

As to the old friend, not knowing all the details,
I'd say he was being shy and even a bit polite as
he worked toward the other issue. Maybe he took
your response to harshly and his feelings were
damaged. Or he was just looking for an easy fuck and turned the page...only you can decide.

As to that fuckbuddy, sometimes I think they are like hard-ons..they come, they go and they pop up unexpectedly.
