Hi Guys,
I want to listen to some songs about happiness and new beginnings. A positive change is taking place in my life, and I want to compile some songs about being happy. The suggestions don't have to be limited to the most recent charts. I listen to older songs also.
Gentlemen, please make suggestions. Thanks! :-)

It'll be bright..bright..bright like a sunshinin day

I can see clearly now..:-)

Whenever I feel it's time to let go of something or to make a fresh start two songs keep going round in my head: "Bye bye blackbird" and "There'll be some changes made" as sung by Mildred Bailey (Billy Holliday and Ethel Waters sing slightly different versions). I don't know if you'd class those as "happy songs" exactly. Or what about Judy Garland, "Forget your troubles, come on get happy!". You can't get gayer than that.

Eldergay choices!

You can try Oceana (the soul singer, not the rock band), especially the 1st album, Caro Emerald, Empire of the Sun, Motown stuff (Martha and the Vandellas, all the way!), some Gregory Porter tunes, Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators (again, their first album), Yakoto, Sharon Jones, Saun and Starr etc.

That´s what I usually listen to when I´m in a good mood.

I went through a phase of listening to some disgustingly cheery dance music and still like some of them. For a start, there's "Move any mountain" by The Shamen. You could try Blumschen as well if you weren't already listening to top of the chart German pop in the 90's.

Now I've mentioned The Shamen, I just remembered the Streets of Rage soundtrack. Streets of Rage is more surreally saturated in colour as a setting than happy, but
, although I'm not sure if it's really that happy or just happy compared to almost everything in the game up to that point.

"Feliz Navidad" - Jose Feliciano
"Great Day" - Charles Dockens
"Happy" - Pharrell
"Stay" - Ne-Yo

"Something to Dance About" - Irving Berlin from Call Me Madam

go to 1:40

Cat Stevens - If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out
Cass Elliot - It's Getting Better

Here's 2 that always cheer me up:

Parachute Club - Rise Up

Jean Michel Jarre - Calypso
(This one should get you bouncing in your seat.)

This guy is terrific. The music is well-written and easy on the ears. Sound design (multi-track) is awesome.
