What Are Your Near Perfect Movies?

This is the best thing that ever happened in a movie.

the only gaffe that I could see in Hunter Killer is that no submarine officer would say "FIRE" on a sub. . .he'd say "SHOOT" because "FIRE" has a much more dangerous and deadly meaning

Love Actually!
I once watched it out of season. All I could do was find fault after fault after fault in the story, the continuity, you name it. I used to love it but the flaws are now just too big to look past.

Jaws and Silence of the Lambs are both flawless.
Silence of the Lambs aged well. I’ll watch it every time I see it on.

I tried watching Jaws with my daughter. It freaked her out and she couldn’t watch it. This was after we’ve watched all the other horror shark movies.

I agree that Jaws has no flaws as a movie. It was everything it aspired to be, not a scene I would cut out of it and that’s true of very few movies I’ve seen. One reason the movie worked so well is that in the book there was a previous relationship between Hooper and Brody’s wife which was renewed while shark searching. It didn’t belong in the book (but books need sex…..movies usually too) and thankfully it wasn’t in the movie…..all attention was on the shark and that made it great.
