  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

what are your phobias?

Bugs, bugs, bugs! Includes spiders and anything of the sort! I just can't help but scream and run in the opposite direction when I see one. I'm also afraid of deep waters. I had a bad experience once, and since then I will not go into a lake, river, or ocean. I'll stick with the man made chlorine filled swimming pools thank you!

Claustrophobia... I cannot stand small, enclosed spaces.
Demophobia... I cannot stand crowds or crowded places.
Coulrophobia... yes, clowns scare me, too. Or at least make me intensely uneasy.

A small room full of clowns would definitely send me over the edge.

I used to be afraid of spiders (arachnophobia) and snakes (ophidiophobia), but I got over it. I have a fear of falling from a height, which isn't quite the same as fear of heights... I don't care how high up I am, so long as I don't feel like it's possible to fall.

I wonder what are th psychological mechanisms behind fear of clowns? I understand that all the mainstream phobias are routed to our survival instincts... but how do clowns come into the picture?

On average, a person swallows four spiders while they sleep throughout their lifetime. :D

:D im werid i no

I have the worst phobia than everyone else. I have a phobia of driving.

To clarify....

that should be VERY fat people coming up behind me -- that's a phobia.
VERY fat people around me is an anxiety-producer.

there's reason behind it.

Hopefully you won't go running for the hills when you see me walking behind you.

Okay, this is gonna sound really weird, but I hold my breath when I walk past people. Not every time and not every person, but I mean walking past someone that's going fast enough to leave a breeze. It's like I'm afraid to take in their 'air' or something because it's going to give me cooties. I don't like breathing in a total stranger.

I know... I'm weird.

centipeeds, milipeeds and scorpians! wouldnt go within 100 metres if i knew there was one somewhere!

I had a friend that had lots of snakes and fed them mice, rats and rabbits. No problem there.

Clowns make me nervous, but can deal with it.

Heights, no problem. Sky diving, repelling, love it.

Ladders-no way! Go figure.

Spiders get to me, god i hate those things. And heights are starting to become scary, I used to be able to do it, but now i get a lil queesy

There's nothing that scares me more than one of those big German cockroaches. There is nothing in this world that gives me that sheer sense of disgust and revulsion.

I also have an aversion to birds, although I'm not terrified of them.

Heights and Falling

and little tiny mousies

Bugs, spiders, insects... Any little crawly thing.

snakes for one. but I guess my biggest fear/phobia is letting anyone/anything get the best of me. I am very competitive and I don't like to get beat at anything.

i often have dreams about a bull that gets the best of me at a rodeo and there is nothing I can do to stop him. and all my friends leave me.

Im horribly claustrophobic
Its absurd from a guy who's Indian
I live with ONE BILLION people at home
But I dont like being confined
