For those who don't know, revenge porn is a picture or video posted online by a ex lover for the purpose of spiteful humiliation.

There are now a few sites like is anyone up or ugotposted that allow people to anonymously post graphic material as a way to get revenge on someone. Along with pictures, often times, links to the victims facebook, or twitter will also be posted.

People that are posted can have trouble finding work and can ruin peoples reputations.

I think It's a really disgusting thing to do and I've been to the point where I thought about posting vids/pics of this guy that screwed me over, but ultimately decided it was the wrong thing to do. I'd hate to think that I was responsible for ruining someone's life.

What do you guys think? And would you do this to an ex? Have you done it already?

P.S. Sorry if this has already been talked about, I tried searching it and nothing came up.

WOW...never even heard of this before this moment. I think it is disgusting.

I would not even consider it under any circumstances. I am not a revengeful person so I can't even relate to the idea.

 First time heard of this.

It's immature and awful. I don't humiliate my exes in public.

Note to self: no sex tapes and no sexting from now on. Twerking is still OK though.

That's the sort of thing I might consider in the heat of the moment, but all in all, I wouldn't post private videos publicly just to spite them. It's just like women who spread rumours that their ex-boyfriend has a tiny penis. It's childish.

Twerk away :-D
Funny thing about revenge porn is that anyone who uses it against the victim is also admitting that they themselves frequent revenge porn web sites.
Not sure that makes it easy to claim a moral high ground ;)

Is this the guy that called you fat?

To answer the question: I think it's an unconscionable thing to do.

I can see what the revenger gets out of this, but is there a market for it? It's a bunch of (presumably) nude/sex photos/video, which in this day and age one can get pretty much anywhere online. Do some people specifically get aroused, or even intrigued by "I posted this picture of a naked guy because he screwed me over"? If anything intrigued me about the whole thing, oddly enough, it would be if the person told the story of getting fucked-over well...and at that point, I'd be interested in a well-told story, not in any of the photos.

I think there are some evil, heinous people out there whom SHOULD be outed as such, and not allowed to get away with their evil ways, and people should be warned against them - However... I would also hate to see a site like this used for petty grievances, and misdemeanor offenses just because someone got butt-hurt because someone broke up with them.

Another big problem with it is underage postings.

My sisters friend was posted when he was 17 years old. They claim anyone posted is over the age if 18 but they have absolutely no proof.

And legal action is difficult too. Legally, if you send a nude photo, it becomes their property, and they can do whatever they want with it.

I had someone lift some pics I had posted a looooonnnng time ago and it is a very weird feeling to see them elsewhere...one I saw was in a magazine and the other was/is on a site. I was gonna take them down years ago but at this point it doesn't really matter and I was smart enough to crop out the face pics anyway....

Besides..there is a group of the same guys...maybe 50 of them... that are regulars as you can see who they are and how often they come...who check in faithfully now for MANY MANY MANY years.... I am assuming to jack off. I always want to ask them if they check in hoping to see new ones or if they just like the ones that are there a lot....but I don't ask :)

I don't think anyone could do revenge porn on me because I don't care.

I agree with this.

I would want to hear what the Ex did that was so low as to cause you to stoop to this level.

My understanding is THAT he did not STOOP to this level . As for what his ex had done . Their business .

Sorry,it's wrong any way you look at it.

I wouldn't do it. Something to do with not being a total fucking bastard I suspect.

I read an article about it all once, and how there was a website set up where you could order crabs that you could sprinkle on your ex's sheets and in their underwear so they ended up with pube lice. I thought that was pretty much pathetic too.

Isn't this how a good many high school or otherwise immature people - boys and girls - get into internet and legal trouble.

Isn't this very much like stalking?

@The Fly, Lex, and Medic1 (and anyone else that mentioned it and I missed.) FRom what I understand it's usually when one cheats on the other. Although I've heard cases of people just doing it because the victim broke up with them.

I don't follow.

It all sounds horrendous.
