Some of you may have already heard about this but for those of you who didn't here's a link to the story:http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...hite-shark-cannibalism-animals-ocean-science/

The case study is of a 9 foot long (3 meter) female great white shark that was tagged earlier this year off the coast of Australia. The tracking device it was tagged with recorded drastic temperature changes that can only indicate that the tracking device was in the stomach of another predator indicating that the shark was eaten. Some logical explanations for this is that it was an orca, another great white or the tag feel off an malfunctioned. Since the shark was at depths of up to 2, 000 ft this discards the orca whale hypothesis since the deepest orca's are said to dive is 800 ft. The temperature max recorded was 78 F which is too high to be the internal temperature of another great white throwing out that hypothesis. Finally the last main hypothesis is that the tag malfunctioned which according to the team is highly unlikely since the tag was faded indicating that it was sitting in stomach acid. Also these tags are not made to fall off easily so it's unlikely that it feel off the shark. Other hypothesis is that this is just a stunt by discovery to up their ratings but what could it be ? I highly doubt it would be megalodon as so many people seem to point out :##:

This didn't happen earlier this year but over a decade ago. It could have been another shark of similar size, maybe larger (bull, tiger, great white, some other larger predator). Why does it have to be some huge monster shark? Likely it wasn't swallowed whole but bitten and the tracking device swallowed. If you watch how a shark eats it hits and runs or perhaps a frenzy from a group of sharks. It seems rare for a 9 yr old young great white however all living things have weak sick days and succumb to survival of the fittest many times before old age hits. The swallowed whole crapola is hype, think about it logically. It wasn't Nessie from Loch Ness.
