What Car do you drive?

Yup, I removed the grey part of the grille--looks better that way. As for being able to afford an S4, most people lease them and they are not that bad. Definitely less than an M3.

And I HATE BMW's...glad no one on here has one.

see posts #5, #8, #15.

I used to drive an A4 3.0Q (2002). I agree that Audis are very nice.

I get a car provided with work and it is always a Dodge Grand Caravan. I love them they are such a practical car.

The Audi S4 is nice but I'm likely to buy a BMW M3 over an S4. Have you seen the 2008 A5 and S5?

Dude yessss. OMFG

I hear it still doesn't have the handling dynamics of the 335i (new M3 is going to be a killer) despite the engine placement further behind the front wheels and new 50/50 Quattro split.

Since the S5 competes with the 335i, it will be the upcoming RS5 that will compete with the M3. It's going to get interesting!

I'm hooked on the interiors, quality, and solid feel Audi delivers. My mom actually wants an S5.

I like Audi because they aren't as common as BMW and have an understated feel to them.

I do like the looks of the A5 and S5. Very chieseled styling. I do not think the S5 will be competing with ther 335i. The S5 has 364hp where the 335i only has 300hp. I think it will be A5 3.2 vs 335i, The S5 and RS5 both compete with M3.

Where I live there are just as many Audis as BMWs.

The new e90/e91/e92 are heavy cars and thats because the 3ers moved up market so the 1 and 2 series will fill in the lower ranks of BMW's model lineup. 1 and 2 series will be BMW's competitior to the Audi A3 and S3.

I just hit slut status! LOL

BMW has ticked all the right boxes with the E90/92, with the exception of emotion! Though, they're still the best car for the tight and twisted.......roads!

I've had both Audi and BMW: 2002 Audi A4 3.0Q and 2006 BMW 330xi. Both are 3.0L 6 cyl AWD and about the same weight. I like both cars.

The Audi definitely was a step ahead in interior design and ergonomics. It was also built like a tank and a monster in the snow. I would often see SUVs and 4X4s littered in the ditch as my Audi just kept dutifully clawing right through it. On the down side, though, it did have a tendency to understeer at the limit. Don't get me wrong, it was a fun car to drive through the twisties, no doubt about it.

The BMW has a nice, understated, simpler interior that doesn't feel quite as posh as the Audi. It too feels very solid and does quite well in the snow. Where it really shines is on the back roads. This is the first "brakes optional" car I've driven. If you find the right arc in a curve/corner, it will hold it confidently without making you feel like you need to scrub off speed with the brakes. And b/c the car is essentially a RWD that activates the front wheels when necessary, there is practically no understeer. It's a blast even for us amateurs.

When I bought the BMW, I also looked at Audi again. I would have bought another Audi, I liked my first one so much. The one thing that stopped me was the steering. In 2006, Audi put servotronic steering on ALL A4's - no way to delete it. I was heart-broken (well, almost). If you've never experienced it, servotronic steering delivers a serious power boost at speeds less than 40 mph (~65kph?). The boost is waaaaay too much, IMO. It felt like a '72 Buick, it was boosted so much. At high speed it was great. The BMW, OTOH, had great feeling, meaty steering at all speeds making it easier (and more fun) to control in corners.

Would I buy another Audi? Absolutely, provided they make one without the servotronic steering. For the next couple a years, though, I'm happy with what I've got.

To all Audi drivers, you've got really nice cars!
