What Computers Have You Owned?

I don't remember, but I know my first was a Tandy with (I think) 64 megabites or something. I know it was DOS. Then I had a series of desk tops including an Acer I bought and later an Acer that my sister gave me that had been hers. I now have an HP desktop for an XP program I run not on the internet and my Lenovo laptop that I use on the internet. I remember working someplace that had an IBM 360 with punch card input and reels of tapes. Each tape drive was the size of a small refrigerator. The printer was a dot matrix that had green and white striped paper and holes in the sides to feed it. I don't remember what type of printer this was called. COBAL was the programming language. My first home printer also was dot matrix which used white paper with holes on the side to feed it and the sides were perforated so they could be torn off when done.

My parents bought a commodore 64 in the 80's when was a kid. We barely used it. It's like our piano. It was all for show at the time.
I bought my first laptop in 2006, Toshiba Satellite. It lasted ten years. I would still use it but it was XP and it was beginning to be slow. I loved it though.
I bought a Lenovo laptop in 2016 and after a few months, the screen had lines on it and froze a lot. I tried to return it but the store suddenly disappeared. I was in the Philippines at the time.
Now I just use it to write and download music and videos to transfer later.
My sister bought me another type of Toshiba Satellite laptop with touchscreen this year and I really like it so far.

Patriot computer it was one of those magazine computers with all the games one of the worst computers out there.
Compaq- Windows 98
Dell (Windows ME & Windows XP)
Gateway (Windows vista)
Emachines (Windows vista)
Apple
Toshiba (Windows Vista, Windows 7 and windows 8)
Lenovo(100 at bestbuy on black friday) (Windows7)

A Dell and never again. Was told everything was upgradeable as technology changes so fast. Went to upgrade and was made aware that indeed nothing was upgradeable and everything was integrated into the motherboard and thus when my hard drive got fried the whole system is a useless pile of shit. NEVER BUYING A DELL AGAIN!!

Yikes! I just recently bought a Dell laptop, it was SLOW as hell but I had to get rid of a lot of Dell's bloatware and Costco's McAfee anti virus that was installed on there. It's only an i5 Processor with 12GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive. It still feels a little sluggish not as fast as my gaming desktop but that's what happens when you get laptops. It was only like $500 dollars, I suppose you get what you pay for. Hopefully you didn't pay a lot of money for your Dell.

Oh wow I had a Packard Bell 1997 cost $1400 (great deal then) and a Y2K Gateway ($2600) state of the art in its day. Also I have a 2006 HP (came loaded with XP with free Vista upgrade) and I have an HP laptop brand new now. Fond memories of them all.

I still have a Commodore 64, 1541 drive, and mouse that still works to this day! I al have a Commodore Amiga 3000T that I have stored.

Since then I've built various PCs from 386s all the way up to my liquid cooled gaming I7. A friend gave me a an I5 mac mini that I've upgraded the memory and added a second and drive to

ZX-80....
Tandy Pocket Computer PC-1
ZX-81....
Timex-Sinclair 2068...
Packard Bell running... DOS/ Win3.1. Had a primitive CD drive, woot!
Then... a Gateway that shipped with Win97

Currently a variety of machines dating from the Vista era to one I built last year with a quad-core Celeron MB and has only run Linux. I still have the T/S, though it's not working, need to take it apart and see what's up with that. Most of my stuff I run Linux on these days, but keep a Windows 10 machine for the rare occasion I need Windows. Typing this on an old Acer with Vista on the original HD and Linux on the drive I actually bother to boot it to. Getting a little long in the tooth but still usable online for now.

I had a Mac OS tower in the mid to late 90s Mac OS classic. That thing lasted FOREVER.
I had a Windows 98 laptop, then my first pc tower with Windows ME Dell. After that I got ANOTHER new tower with XP but it was HP I believe. I took that with me and I sold it to get my FIRST real Mac, MacBook 2007. That’s also the same computer I used when I first joined here long time ago! I Installed Bootcamp It had Windows XP then skipped to 7.

After that I got The MacBook Pro 2014. It was 15 inches and had 16 gigs of ram icore 7. Sucker cost me $2500 after taxes.

I’m currently using a MacBook Pro 2016 15 inches mostly the same specs I can’t tell. I just like to be up to date. I’m getting the 2018 MacBook Pro soon with whatever has the highest price tag which I would assume has the best specs.

I have a complete NCR Century system sitting in my warehouse, it came from a family business. I started with windows machines, they sucked, I now own apple, they nave have problems. Even my machine stuck on Snow Leopard runs better than any windows machine I ever had.

My first was an IBM XT in late 1983 $5,000.00 with a 10K hard Drive. My partner and I actually sent the first email possoble in the next few years we did upgrade the hardrive to 40 K LOL
