BTW It's somewhere around the North and South Island.
Oh well, at least we've ruled out Stewart Island. That's a huge help.
Furthermore, I actually know the guy who is the very northernmost person on the northernmost spit of land on North Island, so that is ruled out too. That really helps a lot.

And Frank that lighthouse keeper that JAG talks about at Cape Reinga...
any chance he could give us directions to Tapotupotu or Rarawa Beach...maybe even a ride?
Oh JAG, before I go.... the reference to the West Island confuses me..surely thats not a reference to OZ??... and the Chathams aren't even in the vicinity.

Both islands are from the same stock. Mainly 19th century British ... we're all one big happy family, trying to keep our heads in front of our near neighbours on the West Island.
He must be the lighthouse keeper at Cape Reinga then.
At least he tol' me that he was the absolute northernmost inhabitant of New Zealand. Could he be exaggerating?
