  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What did you have for dinner?

A can of Habitant split pea soup (the French-Canadian yellow kind) - thanks to the Internet for making this delicious Canadian-only product available!

Mixed-lettuce salad, with some black pepper, cinnamon, cilantro and oregano added - and an organic honey mustard dressing.

So, vegetarian so far today - but I might eat a tin of sardines...

^we buy it in the local grocery stores Frank.

I grilled 2 chicken thighs.

A Mouth watering garlic flavored wrap W/ Roastbeef & fixings W/ horseradish sauce. YUM-O

They sell that stuff in the Dollar Store in the UP! One can. One Dollar.

We cheated tonight...8 pc. fried chicken dinner from the Grocery store. A forgettable cole slaw and rolls, plus mashed potatoes and gravy.

(Not really in the mood for cooking since we're both operating on less than 3 hrs. sleep :()

A little catch up - the trout was actually from Thursday night.
Friday, we went to my folks for spaghetti, sausage, and we brought some braciole we picked up at the store's ready to cook offerings, then played cards.

Saturday a picnic at my sis in-laws w/ combo birthday parties - a pair of nephews have b'days on 7/5 (different parents, years), so was hots and hamburgs and chips, a multi-bean baked bean - like taking the 15 bean soup mix and crockpotting it into a sweet baked bean confection - should get the recipe for that thread, too.

Sunday brunch after church. Then did major grocery shopping at BJ's (Whse club).
Dinner - I sauteed Fresh Sockeye salmon w/ a little oriental sesame dressing, added more sesame seeds, then added a can of mandard oranges and some lemon for a touch of flavor. Fork mashed golden potatoes, California mix veggies- cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, added a bag of sugar snap peas.

Tonight, Cubed Steaks with peppers, onions, mayo, First FRESH CORN on the COB of the Season up here for us - sweet - expensive - $0.45/ear. But worth it.

Strips of beef stir fried with chillis and a green salad with lime and olive oil dressing. It was the Pimm's and Lemonades and the bottle of Claret which did for me!

Tuesday - had a late lunch of sliced roast beef w/mushroom red wine gravy and home fries; wasn't hungry for dinner.

Wednesday - stopped out for Chinese with the family Beef w/ Snow Peas, also had carrots, bamboo, a couple of potstickers, cup of egg drop soup, Oolong Formosa tea.

Thursday - another late lunch - Chicken Walnut/Craisin salad, Mozzarella sticks. Debating on dinner - most of the family went to Friendlys because they didn't pull the chicken out soon enough to thaw and marinade like they were told.

So, tomorrow, we'll have grilled, marinated chicken. Tonight, I may have nothing, I may have cereal, I'm not sure.

Wound up w/ Fried Egg Sandwich with some roast beef added.
Quick and Easy, and not too heavy.

I am baking a salmon pie for dinner, and will serve it with a fresh made salad and fries.
