  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What did you have for dinner?

ok donnie

so what was the body count?

and really .....yams, rutabagas, squash and bread pudding?

Whose mommy dictated that menu

How may belts has that dinner blown apart?

Not so many showed up - we've got two refrigerators full of leftovers - and that's just the Dinner and Dessert - my folks brought the appetizers - lots of raw veggies and dip, shrimp cocktail was had, too.

We always have the aforementioned Rutabagas, Squash, Sweet Potatoes and Bread Pudding - most years we've had both chocolate and vanilla bread pudding - smorgasbord - take what you like, leave what you don't.

And, we only had 12 of the up to 30 we had invited.

I would be a bit pissed.....probably would have taken everything

down to the local homeless, fed them. The, in Christmas cards to

the no-shows a note telling them their a Christmas gift was made in

the Thanksgiving groups name to the XYZ shelter. But, I can be a bit

of a bitch. BTW, theres new meat..."Gwailo" up Kuli's way.....Oregon

anyway...looks like he might like to clown a bit too...|

I had Thanksgiving dinner with a bunch of other vegetarians, and nobody (not even the token meat-eater) missed the turkey. (Granted, two of the attendees were German, and one was Congolese, so only the host and I were accustomed to the traditional turkey dinner.)

I ended up not cooking my Field Roast, but I brought mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and lentil soup (all homemade), the host prepared green beans, black-eyed peas, collard greens, rutabagas, and cornbread, and one of the Germans brought an incredible German potato salad (mayonnaise dressing, not vinegar).

We had a bit of chocolate to nibble on for dessert, but none of us had much room for it. Fortunately, I was able to leave my leftovers with the host, because I only brought about half of what I prepared. Today I cooked my Field Roast and ate it with some of the leftovers. 'Twas delicious.

Friday's dinner was an Arby's Beef and Cheddar sandwich with a bag of chips and sweet ice tea.

I give up....southern (f-ing where) fried chicken?

southern french fried maybe?

I am doing shredded beef/pork Tacos

Refrieds with jalapenos and goat cheese

Shrimp and crab enchiladas

San Miguels and Cuervo premium shots

probably bicarb in the white throne room by 1 a.m.

LOL.

Unless I boil up some pasta to eat some of the pre-Turkey day pot of sauce, it will be Turkey and select trimmings.
(already has been.)

Still working down the Thanksgiving day after lefovers, but with a twist -
we did oven roasted veggies under the bird - carrots, parsnips, onions, celery.
They've been safely stored in the crock pot in the upstairs fridge - I bought some stew beef, browned, added a bunch of the veggies and let it simmer a bit and had quick "stew".

Yummy!

chinese

The head chef/owner must be out ill.

It was our youngest's concert night - ran thru Wendy's and got Bacon Cheeseburg Deluxe, small fries, small diet. I know, not good for me, but I needed something before the concert.

Had a welsh nanny once who loved to cook. Meat pies, sheps and beef

and pork anything of that ilk........still salivate over those taste memories.

Maybe do a ham stew.....try something new....its cold and wet out today....

with some fresh sour dough and cheese...hmmmm.
