  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What do you do for a living?

I'm mostly retired ; however I do some on the side investigations-profiling for a Bail Enforcement Agency . Now and then I will do massage threapy for a friend.

At my age, I've done quite a few things in my lifetime; a couple years of this and a couple of years doing that ... Retail Management, Real Estate Sales, Roommate Finder Service, Rental Mgt. Service, Consumer Frauds Investigator, Private Investigator, Bail Enforcement - Recovery Agent, Personal and Spiritual Counselor, Pastor, REIKI Master-Teacher, Massage Therapy .... and ... Owned a few Jewelry 'n Gift Businesses ...

Currently nothing, by choice. Been doing nothing for 7 months now and am damn bored with it.
I have been job hunting since April and have found pretty much nothing. Although the Francestown General Store is looking for a General Manager and I may start there doing that in a couple of weeks. This will actually be kind of cool
This is the only store in the town where I live. Population is about 1600 people. So chances are good I'll get to know just about everyone in town. Including those that "matter".

Disney is always hiring. It's hard to tell what type of job you would end up in though. The way to do it is to come down to Florida, go to the Casting Center and meet with a casting rep. They will show you a short orientation video and you then fill out an application. You meet and talk with the rep and then they search through a database of open positions and see what your "best fit" is. At that point they may or may not make you an offer or send you off to other locations for interviews.

However, it may have changed somewhat since I was hired because that was 17 years ago, but the Casting Center looks the same way it did when I got my job there and people I talk to who were recently hired make it sound like it's the exact same process.

Hey Gewhite, I kidding about the job. I don't know what would be worse, sweating my ass off at a work site or in a Micky suite. Please explain that job title...

Three jobs at present.

Two are part-time janitorial (I'm researching this field to see if I'd want to start up a cleaning business), and the other is restroom attendant (where I can clear $25-$50 an hour) two evenings a week.

In the past I've been a busboy, dog trainer, jail cook, woolen mill worker, retail & restaurant manager, movie theater manager, car salesman, salmon fisherman, among other things. I've also owned and operated a cafe, been a working partner in a pizza/pasta business, and (doing the barista thiing)owned an espresso cart.

Flight Attendant, love it and can't imagine ever leaving. Before that I was a paramedic, and during high school I did retail sales.

Bar Man.

I wanna go back to college, eventually go to uni to become a graphic designer. Love the idea of designing ads in magazines and posters. But, I also love textiles, and designing clothes, but I dont have the skills or fasion sense to be any good at that, and its really stereotypically gay.

I'm a graduate student at the University of Minnesota in Mechanical Engineering.

I'm a research assistant, so now the school pays ME to go to school!!!

still a student. But looking forward on becoming a successful businessman someday. :) And artist. :)

I was a Secondary School Teacher; before getting drafted into the Army; but joined the Air Force instead.

I am retired from the Air Force where I spent 22 wonderful years (in the closet) flying jet figther air craft for them.

After retiring from the military, I spent 9 1/2 years working in the Civil Service at Nellis AFB, NV, as a Range Safety Specialist until I was medically retired!

I think 31 1/2 years is enough to give don't you? lol
