  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What do you do when it rain all day?

I do the same as when it is not raining; I so seldom leave my flat that it makes no difference to my life.

Having said that ... I love rain.

So many parts of the world do not see enough of it. Drought is a terrible thing. No rain = no crops = famine, starvation, and death.

If it's only a light rain I'll go about my business. If it's really coming down and what I have to do isn't important then I stay home and listen to music and/or play video games. If it's really coming down and I have to go out then I bust out my umbrella.

There's an old Essex country saying: horses play, rain all day; horses fight, rain all night; horses roam, sod off home.

I love the smell of rain in the cabbage fields :luv2:

Hmmmmm ... so you like wet cabbage?

wet cabbage
A term describing female genetalia when wet, usually from semen or vaginal discharge. Usually shiney.
"EW, wet cabbage! Nasty!"

Courtesy of Urban Dictionary.

 ^ Only wet cabbage after a nice summers eve

My guess as to what you are doing is you wondering why in the world you put your piano so close to the fireplace. Heat and changes in humidity are murder on a piano. Dry enough and the sounding board will crack. Temp and humidity control are important to pianos, even cheap spinets and consoles.

I love the smell of the air after a good rain.:D

I don't. I have allergies...

I have spring allergies. Sneezing, coughing, and all stuffed up all the time. When it gets too bad, I take allegra and that nasal spray thing for temporary relief.

Anyway, so on a normal spring day I have a reaction to all the pollen. during rain, I have a reaction to the change in humidity or something. After it rained, I get a reaction to the after-rain smell.

Then there's something in the air in the summer that also causes me to react.

Also the fall.

The only season that I can consistently breathe with ease with no medicinal help is the goddamn winter when it's cold, dark, and miserable.

I don't use that fireplace. I have the vent (or whatever the hell you call the part that goes up from the fireplace) completely closed off.

We treat the fireplace as decoration.

He means the flue.

I don't think so. The flue is just the component that allows the chimney to be closed, like during rainstorms. Then the flue is adjusted to open the chimney so the smoke can escape when a fire is burning.
