I'd say you're right about some of them being bi but only in maybe 20% of the case. Most of the time I'd definitely say they're straight and just using other things to turn themselves on.

My porn peeves:

1) Cheesy music or background noise. I want to hear the hot moaning and grunting, not cheesy synths or reruns of The Facts of Life.

2) Bad camera work. Some directors just set the cam on a tripod and go out for a smoke. Using different angles and close up shots goes a long way.
