Love this thread having been born and raised in suburban Milwaukee! Let's see, here's what I know (or have heard). If Hitler had won World War II, he was going to make Milwaukee the capitol of the United States due to our German heritage. I've also heard that during the same period, Madison was our nation's "back-up" capitol in the event that something happened to DC. I guess they would have moved all the offices to Madison (our capitol building looks like the one in DC) and used UW's campus as infrastructure for the bureaucracy. Since I graduated from UW-Madison, I can attest to the fact that the university is quite liberal and classes were very rigorous. The Union also features super good ice cream made on campus and has one of the best views in the state on Lake Mendota (Madison lies on an isthmus). Plus the campus is filled with hot guys. As for the rest of the state, in my opinion the hottest guys are in Madison and the Appleton area (definitely NOT Milwaukee). My students in Switzerland make fun of my "accent" all the time which pisses me off and leads me to inform them that I have no accent. Overall, I love Wisconsin and will come back to live here once I get Europe out of my system.
