If you have a particular reason for living, some task that you'd like to achieve before you die, or just something you try to achieve every day of your life, what is it? What drives you, what is it that you aspire for?

If you're feeling keen, I'd also love to hear what you do or what you intend to do in order to achieve this.

For me, it's a strange one. I decided a while ago that I'd like more than anything else to leave a footprint on the world, something that would keep my name echoing around for decades to come. I don't mean that I want to be famous, at least not in a celebrity way, more that I just don't want to vanish from the world before my body even grows cold. I'm trying to do this firstly by writing at least one book, which will ensure that my name is decently in print. I'm also hoping to invent something half decent that I can be proud of, and will hopefully make an impact on the world.

Still, that's my dream. Do please share yours. :)
 
My dream is silly..... to be with someone and love one another so totally and completely that we loose ourselves in each other.

Pipe dream..... but ya never know.
 
Great answer titanic. I think everyone in some way would like to be remembered. Not just another statistic or another "Oh yeah that's his tombstone over there"

And the reason I think for the most part is because no one knows what the fuck happens after we die (shut up) so what we do in this life is sort of a big deal. But leaving a footprint which doesn't necessarily involve fame or wealth is a great goal.

I myself might write a book one day. I feel that there are those in the pasts who have taken on goals, causes, or just trying to change something for the better. I feel that once these people pass on that their dreams and beliefs don't die. Whether it's through writings or actions they are sort of passed on or "inherited" by others. I than feel that it's sort of that person's duty or desire to continue what they did. Whether it's a huge goal or something not so big. And than by doing so they try to leave a footprint or some kind of path for someone else. Than when they die they can smile thinking, "I got a little closer. Let's see how much farther someone else gets."

It's always kind of changed for me but I would really like to see a huge change in this world. I want to kind of shock this world and make people think and actually open their eyes and ask themselves if what is going on or what they are doing is really right. And as for the gay community I am really trying hard to not only revive the leather community but start the next generation since the last generation won't be around much longer and there might not be a new generation since there are so many stereotypes and fear about leather. I don't aim to be a huge leader or icon.

But I want to do my best at awakening others or opening their minds and if I can't do it than hoping that someone else can do it. Or maybe working with others to get it done. I believe it's possible. I believe that the traditions and values that leather holds are not just traditions for someone who is gay or kinky. But for people in general. To respect others, to love others, treat them like family, show courtesy, manners, honor, and integrity. Not everyone has these values anymore. Some people would like to pretend they do or make believe that "their cause" represents the values even if they don't have the values themselves.

And with the gay community. I want these god damn homophobics to open their fucking eyes and see that this isn't just a straight man's world. That gays exist in so many different places and while there are some who want nothing to do with the community and just live their lives. There are some who do want to fucking have fun and be wild or crazy. I plan on improving Pride a lot more, getting on the committee with YP and building a stronger Youth Based Organization and maybe one day actually starting a business or cause. Again I have no idea if this will ever be done in my lifetime. But if I can pass it on to someone else if I fail than at least I know I tried and hopefully someone else will take up the mantle. I also believe that in doing this people don't die for nothing. And while some people would rather live their lives to their own freedom. I believe that living to a sense of duty, passion, or desire isn't a bad thing.
