I hate remakes.

Theres obviously way too much of remakes.

Since some years.Theres remakes every years. It have to stop.

Hollywood need to stop doing stupid remakes and make original movies. Most of the remakes are not even close to the original movies. Most remakes are bad movies. The directors who dare to remake these movies it s like they try to proof that they can do better than the original movies.

Why hollywood have to insult classics?

Theres a remake of halloween. So if a classic like halloween can be remade all movies classic or not can be remade. This is ridiculous.Halloween is one of the most popular horror movie. This is cult. When the original halloween came out.At that time horror movies were darker so was the images of the movie.Today the remake will be with clean image so all the charm of the original halloween will not be there anymore. Most people will say the original halloween is better.

I hate prequels.Who wants to see prequels anyway?

I can accept sequels if it s ok for the movie to have one.

I saw on a site of horror movies and if you knew all the remakes that are on the way you will be pissed off for sure.

Theres rumors of remakes with these movies.

Evil Dead

Friday The 13th

The Entity

Re Animator

Hellraiser

Weird Science and more.

Maybe in some years you could see these remakes of these movies.

Today movies are not as good as they were in the 80s and the 90s.

Everybody i know hates remakes and prequels.

Each movies good or bad are unique and should stay that way.

The remake of when a stranger calls is boring compared to the original. In the remake they only take the first 15 minutes of the original movie and put other things in the movie. The original is a bad movie but better than the remake.Theres more suspense in the first 15 minutes of the original movie than in all the remake one.

In the remakes they change very often the story and what happens in the original movies.Like in the texas chainsaw massacre remake. At the end you see the woman escape in a car.In the original movie she saw a man in a truck and she escape with him.The remakes never respect the original movies and change at least half of the original movies.

It looks like we will see a lot of remakes.Hollywood don t want to stop making remakes.

Do you hate remakes?

I generally am for remakes because some of them are really interesting, at least the good ones. Some are done just purely for the money, and those I generally do skip, but sometimes you get some really interesting results.

The trouble usually comes when its the exact same movie again and nothing different is brought to the table. Sometimes you get exceptions, such as King Kong, but generally they don't work too well.

I am trying to think of the remakes I saw that were quite good. King Kong and Insomnia are the only two that come to mind. Oh yeah, Solaris was ok.

Of course in the Horror genre I know its replete with it, and I don't watch that genre at all.

On the one hand, it's plainly obvious to see what fuels all the remakes: greed. On the other, many people weren't around when the original (and usually superior) versions were released and it gives them an opportunity to see it from today's perspective.

You be the judge on how much good that has done otherwise.

I find modern ones oftentimes uninspired, poorly done, poorly acted, and indicative of serious laziness.

Lame :P

If youc an do a remake and make it modern and itneresting and solid, then do it. Don't make crap like 10 Things I Hate About You or She's the Man.

Remakes, prequels, sequels... no problem with that... the problem is about useless movies...

For example, why do they have to remake asian movies for the american market ? : it's just racism, or promoting a sort of racism.... and most of time the new movie sucks (The Departed !!!!...)

Why do they have to remake european movies ? Can't they read subtitles or stand a dubbed version ? There are plenty of british, french, spanish, italian, german movies and more, witch are perfect like they've been made. Hollywood is just lazy.

Generally they don't bother me. I hated Guess Who though. It didn't do the origional any justice at all, and I thought the humor wasn't as good as it could of been. The messages of the two didn't mesh with me, they felt totally different.

Plus Sidney is one of the (if not the) best actors of the 20th century, so I might be a little biased.

I'm kind of hoping that Rob Zombie does well with the Halloween remake. But the trailer looked really "meh". Whatever, we've got mountains of bootlegs over here in my country, so crappy remakes cost lest than a buck to watch.

I think it depends on the remake. I liked the King Kong remake, parts of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, The Stepford Wives remake, and The Island (basically a remake of Parts: The Clonus Horror). Do I think they lived up to the originals? No, but they were still entertaining.

I hear they're remaking The Bad Seed (which was a brilliant movie) and letting Eli Roth direct it which basically means it's going to be like splatter porn bullshit. That i'm NOT looking forward to.

I'm always iffy about remakes, prequels, sequels etc......

As long as they're done well I guess I'll watch them.

I do think that Hollywood needs to come up with more and more original ideas instead of the onslaught of remakes they have every year which seems to be getting bigger and bigger with every year.......

Dude I LOVED Bad Seed. Scared the shit out of me when I saw it. I thought all little girls were evil after. Eli Roth? Bleh. What's so special about him people treat him like a horror movie god?

I am generally against remakes. Especially when it is a remake of a movie that a majority of people have seen and enjoyed...what's the point?

As for "no good ideas", that's not true. There's a lot of great writing going on, the "dunderheads" are the producers who would rather finance a lame remake than taking a chance on a new idea.

Scared the shit out of me too. That part where she's playing her scales on the piano faster and faster freaks me out. As for Eli Roth, I dunno. People praise him for his horrible gory films which usually leave me feeling depressed. In my opinion true horror is psychological horror.

Soon to be done is FAME . WHY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing WORSE than remakes, is turning old TV shows into movies (Bilko/ Bewitched/The Honeymooners) Oh wait, yes there is something worse: any movie based on a Saturday Night Live sketch.

Alot of remakes are just crap but occasionally they are ok! I think its better that if they are going to remake something then they should look at successful foreign films and bring them to a new audience but please leave all our oldies alone!!

I just prey no-one ever attempts to remake the exorcist! I don't think they would be stupid enough to try but you can never tell these days.

The only remake of a film that I genuinely prefer to the original is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but I am a massive Tim Burton fan lol!

I find them pointless, especially American remakes of J-Horror. the Ring was barely passable, the grudge was dire and Dark Water was atrocious. And the Departed?! Hoolywood falling over itself to woop woop Scorsese for his 'vision', and its a fucking pointless remake of Infernal Affairs!

Yeah, I agree.. The majority of remakes are terrible, and definately did/do not need to happen. -thumbs down-
I actually, can't think of one remake I prefer..

I saw the remake of the hitcher the other week. I really liked it but I had never seen the original and didn't know it was a remake.

A lot of remakes are stupid and pointless but so are a lot of 'original' films.
