I can't tell you, nothing in my area at the moment is selling for more then $300,000. For 1,000,000 you can get around 1,000 acres of wooded land, get it logged out to what you want and from selling the trees probably make close to $500,000 or more depending on how much you cleared.

Take that $500,000 and build a house with probably 4,000-5,000sqft plus a 4 car garage with the works and have money left over.


All these are estimates, the price per acre flucuates between $1,000-$3,000 per acre. Hell there is 35 acres down the road from me for $35,000 you could buy it and log it out and make back your money plus enough to build a nice house on it.

$1 million will buy you an 11 bedroom/10 bath Victorian mansion in the uptown district. At the same time, a really small home in town will go for around $300,000.

Rural Sussex 50min south of london a 3/4 bed house reasonable size for 2 people or 10min drive brighton then not much better then london a small apartment possibly without a garden and parking near impossible.

My parents just got a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath place that was built in the 1980s (and it shows! ). I think they got it for $220,000.

We recently went out looking for some places. Our price range was roughly $350,000. We saw everything from a nice old 5-bedroom (really small bedrooms, though) to brand new, 3-bedroom 2-bath ramblers that they can't unload in this market.

A million? Can't even think.

Reckon I dont live in Boston. But we have one of the highest col's in the country.

On Beacon Hill you get 2br, 2 full (private) baths, in 1077 sq ft for $1,035,000.

Perks include; consierge/security, elevator, laundry and storage. The catch...




No parking. You have to rent a spot in a garage for the lovely price of $25,000 a year PER car!!!

A 2 bedroom semi detached (attached on one wall) house in Bondi, needing renovation (about 1KM or so from the beach) or a 2 bedroom terrace house (attached on both sides) in Paddington. Real estate is expensive here...

I lived in LA, had a great job, and could not afford to buy a house. So I moved to Wash,DC where I was able to buy a 3br/2 1/2 bath condo. Then the boom hit and my place at the height of the market was worth probably $500k. There is a house literally three doors down that has been renovated and is priced at $1.3 million (not much of a lot, but it has a garage and a roofdeck).

Okay, this one is a slightly better buy, and closer to me than the house above. It is a 5 bedroom 9 bath (5 full, 4 half) two story offered for exactly $1,000,000. The house was built in 1996 and has 4,268,880 sq. ft. It sits on 98 heavily wooded acres and has a 5 car garage and a sauna.

Obviously a better buy than the house above in Dayton, but still kinda expensive (houses in the city are overpriced)! This home is in the country just south of Dayton, Ohio. (I bet you could still talk them down from that $1,000,000 asking price).

We have two places in my city, about 30 min drive from eachother so the difference in prices really show. haha.

3 Bed, 1 Bath. Located in Fremantle, Western Australia (About.. 2 streets from the beach .. a few streets away from one of our houses)

although its $1,000,000 AUS

4 bed, 2 bath.

Located in Carine, Western Australia.. Near the other one. this one isss

Depends well this is if you're counting where i use to live w/ my parents, Tarpon.... You could get a 2/2 1500 Sqfoot on the beach or you could get a 5/5 4000 SqFt 20mins away from the beach... Tarpon is wayyyyy too spread out IMO the city needs to be rezoned or something

Where im living now.... you could probably get 1/1 500-800 SQFT or a 2/3 1400-1600 FT Townhouse.. i live in NYC now, but im moving soon!

I would never want or need a Million Dollar home ... BUT...
I've just sold my house here in central Florida for $189,000.00 ... It is three bedrooms, 2 Bath, Lanai, Screened in Back Porch, Double Closets, One car attached Garage, inground sprinkler system, landscape lights, 6' fence around back yard, burgler bars on all windows, and a storage shed/workshop in the back with electricity ... Plenty of trees and shrubs etc ....
NOW: The house I am after up in Springfield, Ohio is a red brick, three bedrooms, dining room, two baths, 2 car attached garage, NEW Carpeting, New Furnace and A/C, fenced Yard with trees, Glass Enclosed Florida Room, and a covered Patio ...
The houses would be about equal ..BUT the house in Ohio is only $100,00 BUT with the market the way that it is; I can get it for only $90,000 and by putting down $25,000 .. My Mortgage will be practically nothing ...

in Harrogate, UK we live in a relatively modest 4 bed house which costs approx $1m, we also have a holiday home on the Algarve, Portugal which cost the around same, but has the same number of bedrooms, but overall its twice the size ifnot more. The UK is well over priced in my opinion.

Here in Geneva, Switzerland, you can get a very nice 2 br. apt. depending on the area. Homes start at over a million dollars. Same goes for some parts of France and Spain.
In my hometown (Mexico City) you can get a beautiful big home in an exclusive part of town.
I think Europe in general is way overpriced!
