The town is going to bone our tree in front of the house.....

Bunch of sickos!

I don't know, but I wouldn't think you'd want just any old boner showing up for the event.

I think you should demand photos of the town's boners in advance.

It's all explained in this excellent book. I think I've recommended it before on here.

Step into the feverish world of Humphrey Mackevoy and discover the thrills of split bark, the unplumbed joys of virgin wood, and the erotic pull of a laburnum in moonlight. Humphrey risks nasty splinters under cover of darkness as his love affair with “Labby” unfolds. But can he defend himself against the local busybodies who are determined to save their trees from the mysterious drill holes that keep appearing overnight?

You cheeky Dendriphiliac. I knew a guy who loved oak... he certainly knew how to treat a log.

Local Public Library? Or does Amazon have it in print?

If you want a book and your local library doesn't have it, ask the reference librarian to get it for you by Inter-library loan (ILL) from a library that does have it. All good libraries worth their salt participate in ILL and should be able to find the nearest library that has what you want and arrange to borrow it for your use. Usually it is a free service.

Print from off the pc screen, on the off-chance I can see it (which in this case I'd doubt), gives me a migraine. Eventually it'll go to kindle. Well, whatever format kindle uses. pdf, maybe.
1st listing on Amazon (USA) for the book (used, hardback) is $1.28 with $3.99 shipping.

Thanks for the replies guys

We had to sign an indemnity form for trimming the tree in front, and the guy told me he will bone it down.:)(never heard that before) Apparently that means a heavy trimming/pruning.

I've never heard this phrase before...... I'll have to bone up on my knowledge of other cultures...... Does it have something to do with one of the upcoming holidays? Maybe Hallowe'en?

And thanks for that. But print media is pretty goddamned small and I usually don't bother with it. I also never pay more in shipping and handling than the actual item is worth. There's no shortage of amusing pornos floating around :)

On the form..you can check off( _Trim _Bone or _Cut down ) The tree needed only a trim, but with winter coming they said they will bone it.

Did they ask you to make sure there were no fire ants making the tree their home? If they plan on boning it they should get that dealt with first..... One does not want to bone a tree that is infested with fire ants!!!!!!!!!
