Interesting to read the adverse comments on IE9 as I had the same kind of problems, not least little bubbles popping up above the toolbar every time I visited a new site. These stated that there was "a problem" with this or that web-page, followed by a delay while it was being "restored." So much for IE9 being faster. Anyway, I uninstalled it via the Windows Updates page and am pleased to be back with IE8. I know some guys here prefer Firefox and I tried that too ... but I guess it's all to do with what you're used to, so I'm sticking with IE8! The "New Updates are Available" balloon still pops up every day entreating me to install IE9 but I ain't gonna do it ... once bitten, twice shy
