What does everyone think of Sioux Falls SD

I feel you're giving me platitudes. I'm not convinced by your 'blind faith'.

How do I gain by it?

Well let me re-phrase.

I get the feeling that you wouldn't gain by it. It would probably be wasted on you entirely.

But for the rest of us, the chance to have a wide circle of friends of different ethnicities, religions and cultural backgrounds allows us to understand the world around us much better. We understand that humankind is a global culture and that each different group has something interesting and rich to contribute to the life of the city and our country.

We are able to enjoy the arts of peoples from around the world more immediately and more intimately. These influences then influence our own arts and culture and leads to something entirely new and exciting many times.

Our menus are much richer. Our restaurants more authentic and varied.

The array of foods available in our stores is also infinitely more varied than in an homogeneous whitebread whitebred city.

But as I noted, from what you've posted so far on JUB, I suspect that not only would the potential benefits never be appreciated by you, but that you are absolutely fearful and xenophobic. Because if you have to ask, it can only mean that you don't have a clue.

It is a dreary shithole but a great refuge for white closeted men.

Ok, I have to say something now. I live in Sioux Falls & have to say thanks for all the negative comments guys.
I find it very offensive that you say these things & most of you have never been here. Yes, it is a small populated area, but the people are friendly & courteous (which maybe some of you could take a lesson in), & theres only 1 gay bar, but it has alot of positive things too. check it out for yourself sometime, but leave your shitty attitude in your state.

^ Oh really dearheart.

Don't take it so personally.

If you love and it rocks your world....great.

The question was what did others think of it.

We've answered.

Now get over it.

Whoa Cowboy......

JENSU get the msg? We wuz gist havin a bit o funnin.

FSD is not just a deodorant spray.

Actually, it is a pretty place and has some beautiful

human beings in it. One of my life friends grew up there.

The O/P question was ambiguous as hell and it all but

practically begged for some smart assisms. I spent a week

there once... not my cuppa but 150,000 people can't all be wrong

unless they are DYE HARD Republicans of course.

Hey, I've lived for years outside of SUKS of Tomatoes, the SMurF

Capitol of Californicatia, for years or almost forever .........

and next door they have Rice Days amid the Duck Blinds.(!)(!):p(!)(!)

Least no one in Sious Falls goes to the ocean beaches to watch for

Tsunamis...........................erm, do they?

^why - what's in dc? Why would you pick there?

But yeah it's better than Canada. That's true.

Ha ha well DC isn't number 1 on my list of American cities but it's high up there. I dunno I like big cities with lots to do: shopping, entertainment, diverse population, a large gay scene.

As for your last comment I disagree. Sure DC is better than some Canadian cities but I don't think it's better than the entire country lol.

^Ok sorry I kinda over generalised. But I am looking for a tax haven of sorts (one of my considerations for a possible move from California one of the most taxed states out there - though they don't have HST....hahhahah). I don't really like Canada so no offense man but it's "not a good deal" IMO. Vancouver is about the nicest city though but the if I had to live back up there again it would be on the island (van). Maybe around Tofino. But it rains a lot and is gloomy most of the year. .

Ha ha, don't worry, I'm not offended at all that you don't like it up here! Totally respect your opinion. It just seems we have different tastes of cities we would want to live in, which is totally cool! :D..|

A bajillion is a lot so I guess Sioux Falls would be close to the bottom for you. Hmmm- have you even been there?

Ha ha I guess I shouldn't have exaggerated so much, because there are plenty of other cities in the US below Sioux Falls as well. Nope I haven't been there and no offence to the poster who's from there, but I have no interest to visit it either. I just know what I like. I have lived in the city of Vancouver since I was 6 months old and I don't think I could live in any city that's smaller. And I already find Vancouver's gay scene kind of disappointing so moving to a city with only 1 gay bar would just drive me nuts.

Do you use pac highway or aldergrove when coming down to shop?

Ha ha! I can't remember the last time I came to the States to shop. With the exception of Top Man, every store I need is right here lol.

Brown..............that means not black or white

VAN.......ambiguous......Washington? Oregon? Canada?

Oh, Canada......more ambiguity...British or plain Columbia?

Columbia.........North America? South America.

BOI......finally, definitive (pregnant pause) Idaho or.. or .. is that I "DA "HO?

Just funning guys, just funning....oh god not banned to oHIo

:cry:Please:cry:...please... :eek:I promise...:help:I'll try to behave.](*,)

I actually spend a lot of time in South Dakota...

Sioux falls seems kind of ROUGH and SKETCHY to me -- but not in a BAD way...

I much prefer Rapid City... ..|

Either way -- I'm NOT going to live in SD REGARDLESS of it's tax implications...

Oh -- btw -- be CAREFUL of the "no income tax" tactics -- they make UP FOR it in OTHER WAYS...

For example, I looked into moving to Vancouver, WA -- no income tax -- and shopping in Portland, OR -- no Sales Tax... My partner and I own a company -- and GUESS WHAT!!! Washington has very BIZARRE and EXPENSIVE taxes for that...

It all works itself out SOMEHOW!!! You CANNOT avoid paying the state...

:):):)

i never even think of sioux falls, too hard too spell...

...so sioux me! lol

Vancouver is about the nicest city though but the if I had to live back up there again it would be on the island (van). Maybe around Tofino. But it rains a lot and is gloomy most of the year.

You've been to Tofino!??! That's a bitch of a place to get to, actually. I was there last May, and I ran into the same dude I had run into a week earlier in Nelson, 550 miles east of there with four mountain ranges and a huge metropolitan area inbetween...strange!

BOI......finally, definitive (pregnant pause) Idaho or.. or .. is that I "DA "HO?

He's a grown-up BOY,SEE? Other than that, Idaho what you're talking about. I guess Alaska certain friend what he thinks, because Iowa few replies to him.

That person who posted at #33 and #31 sounds like a real abrasive bitch

Let us be perfectly clear here.

You might as well say "Rareboy sounds like an abrasive bitch"

Referring to a poster by number doesn't change the intent. Obviously, if you had said 'Rareboy is an abrasive Bitch', your post would have likely be pruned.....but you have no way of knowing how I sound. You might better have written, 'Rareboy writes like an abrasive bitch'. Of course that wouldn't have made much sense either, because we all know that bitches don't have opposable thumbs.

Unless you're just being somewhat misogynist and suggesting that women are bitches and that some are abrasive. In which case, one would ask why you would frame your complaint in this hackneyed fashion...I mean, aren't we beyond homos immediately resorting to the overused go-to 'Would you look at her.....what an abrasive bitch'.

So before you completely cross over the COC line here, let us establish some ground rules.

From a number of your posts and threads there may be those who believe that you are behaving like a classic troll. Like in this thread.

From a number of your threads one might believe you are not a fan of polyglot society, non-whites or those of Jewish faith or extraction.

From other posts, we also know that you have an unnatural obsession with shit. And by that I mean aversion to it. And the use of shit as a noun or adjective. Or verb.

So, you want to call me out for being an abrasive bitch, go ahead.

But please be careful and watch where you're stepping. We don't want to see you tumble.

Is it like the best place to live?

sioux-falls.jpg

(!)

Hey my friend.. Well I call you a friend even though I don't know you.

YOu seem to be very proud of where you live.. and I love that picutre you shared of your city.
Looks like a nice place to me..
I did not read all the replies to your thread, but read enough of them.

I've never been to your state, but I"m sure it has many fine things about it..
Damn.. you read that someone said it's fine in a rear view mirror (from knucklehead, who usually is wise)..

Im sure there are many fine and beautiful things about your city my friend..
Hell no one lives in a perfect place, ask Kenny who has moved from place to place over the past years.

Best place to live? well you have to ask yourself that.. Depends on what sort of place you enjoy being in.. If you like urban areas then you may live in a big city.. you like the outdoors then you may live in South Dakota or Wyoming.. or many other places..
Best place to be is where you have friends and family.. No matter where you live man, the best place to be is where you have people that you care about and that care about you.

So far I'd say that Sioux Falls SD is a great place. I hope you are happy there man.
A friend from Utah.

my bad,

!oops! thought I spent a week in Aurora...

Must have been all the Coors I had...

I was so sure that it was in Colorado.

(hastily restructures listings of places
seen and been too)

tax haven? pffft. they pay for it somehow.

Alberta for instance, brags about having the lowest income tax in canada and no GST. In fact, the rate is lowest, but because of various deductions, you can end up paying much less in BC.

But don't worry, the BC government will get those savings back from you in paying HST. And "land transfer tax."

Whereever you move, you have to realize they have got to pay for it somehow. So you end up paying one way or another.

It is still worth shopping around if it is that important to you because sometimes one taxation strategy may be more favourable for you, given your own particular assets and income. But don't be convinced until you consider all the different ways they can tax you.

The other caution is that sometimes low taxes = low services. I looked at a place in BC with really low property taxes, but you have to hire a private company to collect your trash, so there go your savings.

I've lived in Sioux Falls since I was born in what is now the city's largest employer...

Sure some of the negative comments are true, but overall it's a pretty nice place.

^

You were born in the citys' Largest Employer.

Was that because of 'meat packing' in the stockyards?

sorry Sax Appeal, the op for a Mini-Ha-Ha just tickled me pink!

Jim,

my son Fetababy is hooked up
