What does "undetectable" really mean?

I talk to guys who say they're "undetectable" and I know that means they have HIV and I won't do anything with them in fear of contracting it, but what's the real definition?

I talked to a guy with an 11" cock and he said he was "undetectable" and when I told him I don't want HIV, he blocked me. Why can't people take better care of their bodies so they don't end up with a fatal disease?

Well, he could have lied to you and said "Oh, I just mean nobody guesses I'm gay" and if you didn't know otherwise, would you have slept with him? Or if he just never mentioned it, would you have slept with him?

“Undetectable” refers to the amount of the virus in the blood. Someone who is undetectable is definitely hiv positive, they just have a low viral count usually as a result of being in the early stages of the disease or they are on medication that lowers the viral count. The virus is definitely there, it is just at very low levels to appear as “undetectable” and may not show any of the usual symptoms. Basically, undetectable means hiv positive.

in most cases in dealing with an "undetectable" a little research on YOUR part helps..there is no real excuse for HIV ignorance in this day and age....
in all actuality, the MAJOR way you can get hiv from an undetectable is if he blows a load in your hole or cums on a bleeding open wound ( which would stop ANYONE from fucking you anyhow) ...blow jobs, kissing etc are all good due to saliva break down, and again, even bb is relativly safe ...if you are so worried about it, go on Prep because alot of great sex with a lot of great people is missed out on due to ignorance...

I would rather them tell me that they're HIV positive than not.

Thanks for the summary.

I'm not ignorant about it. Ignorant would be going out and doing it without asking about it first.

You come off offensive and ignorant with your accusatory statement that men who are HIV positive just didn't take care of their bodies. You are privileged when an HIV+ person volunteers such a sensitive information to a total stranger who only looks at his 11 inches. Had he decided not to share his real status there is a high chance you would be interested in his 11 inches. And then would you consider yourself a failure to take care of your body?

Meaning they went out and had careless bareback sex with several partners, as to how they themselves contracted it and I fear that some out there don't tell their HIV status and get others infected. Also, how can it be a "privilege" to be served a big dick by one who is HIV+? I don't want HIV, I'm sick enough as it is, and I politely declined his offer, so what's the big deal? You want me to get HIV? Can't believe you'd sit there and assume what I think. Get real.

As general advice I would suggest taking a look at how you say things. Hopefully you don't intend to sound the way you come off, which is very arrogant and unapologetically offensive.

You don't need to have careless bareback sex with several partners to get HIV

First, HIV is not a disease, it's a virus. The virus impairs the immune system which allows other diseases to occur which the body would otherwise fend off.

Second, an HIV+ undetectable person will be a safer sex partner than someone who says he is HIV- without getting tested because he knows his status, he knows his viral load, and he is on medication. There are a lot of guys out there who say they are HIV- because they don't have any symptoms and therefore never go to get tested.

So, put a condom on those 11 inches and enjoy the ride!

What do you mean.
Its incurable if you get it. So it is worse than a disease.

To be honest, you sound like an ass. The guy told you he has HIV. If you're afraid of getting HIV, even knowing that the risk is relatively low with a condom and an undetectable viral load, that's fine. You don't have to have sex with him. You have absolutely no idea how he got HIV. He could have been born with it, he could have been raped, and even if it was within his control, that doesn't mean he wanted or deserved it. Judging him might make you feel superior and inflate what is clearly a very bruised ego, but it just makes you look like an arrogant jerk to everyone else. There's enough stigma against HIV+ people as it is. He's a human being, not just a disease. Like I said, you don't have to have sex with him for the sake of being politically correct, but you have no right to judge him.
