What Electric Toothbrush should I get?...

My dentist just turned me on to:

Phillips Sonic Care

Available at your Local Target Store
Some would say it is pricey........but dental procedures are even more pricey.......and I am intent on keeping my full mouth of teeth till death.

The results are almost unbelievable..........I have used Braun Oral B for several years......but this new Philips is only amazing!

Sonicare. Hands down. A Fabulous toothbrush. I'll be honest, I don't replace the heads every 3 months...more like every 6+. Really the only thing that happens is that the bristles get a little softer as the brush ages. Not a big deal.

I too have the Oral-B Triumph. Has a 2 minute timer on it. Be sure to change the brushes every 3 months.

I just went ahead and bought the Sonicare Flexcare with that UV sanitizer; even though, the sanitizer looks like a gimmick to me. Replacement brush heads are like 26 bucks, so I won't be changing them every 3 month.

After 10-15 minutes, UV will kill bacteria and fungus/mold and degrade the genetic material in viruses. However, it will also speed up the degradation of the materials in the brush head, but since you're supposed to replace them pretty frequently they probably won't be crumbling apart in your mouth at any point.

i have the Oral-B professional which i like, i dont really mind the $26 replacement since it keeps my teeth nice and clean which i like and i rather have a clean mouth than a dirty one

I got a Sonicare for Christmas and I am so happy with it. I have been looking at one for a while but $100.00 + for a tooth brush seemed a bit much.

Now that I have it. I love it. Its like I have the dentist clean every time I use it.

Was told by my previous dentist to use Sonicare and my current dentist is very happy that I use it. When a friend and his mother were having severe gum problems and contemplating gum surgery I told them to try Sonicare. Their gums healed in little time. It's supposed to be the next best thing to a professional cleaning. Several people told me their periodontists only want them to use Sonicare.

One of the best investments I made. And yeah, the replacement heads are a little pricey, but I'd rather dish out the 30 bucks or so instead of the 60 for a dentist visit...

I have an Oral-B and my bf has a sonicare, he likes it and I like mine. My dentist recommends either, I asked him before I bought it, so no help there. I ended up getting the oral-b because i came across it on clearance at target one day. I think they both do a great job and the timers help you brush longer.

I'm looking for a new quality electric brush and I looked at Philips Sonicare brush, but the only thing that I don't like is that the replacement brush heads are around $21-$25, way too expensive for me to pay every 3 month plus shipping cost.

You can buy the replacement heads at Sears, Walmart and Sams. Probably have them at other retailers as well.... no shipping cost.

I love my Sonicare elite.

I use the Philips Sonic Care. I purchased it from my dentist several years ago. I love it!

My dentist's assistant told me that they used to sell the Sonicare toothbrush, but they had so many returns due to failure that they stopped selling them and went to the Oral-B. Their program gives you an Oral-B free, but you have to go to a store and buy a second one to get the charger. I bought the basic model from Walmart for about $20. Now, I have 2 Oral-B's. The hygenist always comments that my teeth have no buildup. The replacement brushes are about $8 each.
