Socks, ties and cologne. Probably 3 of the most common gifts received by straight men from their partners or wives on christmas, valentines, and any other days of gift giving.
What do gay men get on days of gift giving/receiving and what do they really want?

I think a gift only makes sense if you can use it every day. I'm not that focused on material stuff anymore, the better gift is company in my eyes, whether there's sex involved or not.

And whoever gives their loved-one socks as a gift is a moron, and to think that it comes from a woman just blows my mind. o_O

Most of the gay couples I know give each-other things they want... like, they ask what the partner wants, and then go out and get it. Or, if it's a surprise, they frequently will give the gift of a trip (either a vacation or just a day at the spa) or jewelry... or a nice shareable sex-toy. And flowers are always nice, though only temporary, same as a romantic dinner.

In straight couples, gift-giving is sort of a female-oriented thing, and there aren't a lot of gifts she can buy for a straight man that he'd really like. Men and women like different things, is all, and I don't see straight women buying their guys porn, much.

To be honest, I'm practical, so I'd probably want something I'd been needing for a while. Anyone who buys me a bigger bass amp will own my heart :D

i like getting socks and ties...especially ties...but i'm more into music and cds, so you know...an iTunes gift card would be a one-way ticket to my goodies.

I love socks. I don't really have a fetish, I just love fresh socks. Were I wealth, I would wear a pair once, and throw them away!

Socks and skivvies, you can't go wrong with me!

I'm rather fickle when it comes to ties and especially cologne.

I just want someone to make me dinner, do the dishes, then let me fuck him for the rest of the night.

I just love getting clothes! As a kid I hated it. Sweaters from Aunt Sharon or Grandma! Pfft! Nowadays, clothes are the best. Other guys seem to be much better at picking out my clothes than I could ever do for myself.

Tshirts, movies, perhaps a new vacuum cleaner? (I still have a Filter Queen for cryin' out loud :p)

Oh yeah, a new vacuum cleaner would be good. One with no bags. And a new toaster.

I love anything that shows a little thought and creativity on the part of the giver . . . a book I'd mentioned wanting to read, some random kitchen gadget, favorite flowers . . . just something that shows he took the time to think about what I really like, my interests, etc. I've always tried to do the same for my significant others and demand nothing less ;) ;)

OMG I still have a filter queen as well!! It must be from the 70s, but I've gotta admit, that thing NEVER breaks! Older products were built to last a life-time. Unlike now where you have to replace your car every 7 years and your vacuum every 5 years, and your toaster every 7 months lol.

Like straight men, gay men aren't some homogenous group of clones. We all like different things. Speaking for myself, I only like getting nice clothes as a gift because it means I don't have to go out and get any for myself. :) CDs and books are always welcome. I do like flowers and going out to dinner. And yes, hot sex.

I want a guy at my university. Not likely to get him, he's probably straight, but a boy can hope.

I personally dont like giving or reciving gifts on "commerical days". I enjoy gifts that are given on just a normal day for no reason that you can think of.

Like the other day, my friend said I was just thinking about you and bought you this. That meant more to me than a gift on xmas.

My BF and I made a decision a year ago to stop buying each other more of the 'stuff'. Our places are soon bursting at their seams...

I take him out for a nice dinner and he does so ever so often, too.

This works just as fine as anything else. And it leaves no traces...
