What Happened to my "Spanish" Thread?

I looked this morning and now its gone. There was nothing offensive in there... ?? You would think it'd be locked or that it'd be deleted and I'd receive a message WHY.
 
thank god it disappeared.... LOL
 
I don't know. i have noticed a few threads being deleted. I dunno why but I guess they had something inappropriate in them.
 
i think i know what the o/p is asking.. i don't think it was deleted because of anything YOU said in your original post in that thread, so that's probably why you didn't get a message from a mod. i looked at the thread after only the first few responses and i didn't see anything 'offensive' at that time but then after that i noticed it took off pretty quickly and there were like forty-something posts pretty fast, so a fight probably broke out, and the mods just decided to end it.. that's just my best my guess.. basically, any 'harmless' questions regarding ANYTHING to do with race have the potential to get heated on pretty much ANY message board, so you should just expect it will happen from time-to-time.

To anyone wondering I was wondering why Mexicans and other people of southern-American culture are always mistakenly referred to as "Spanish" people when technically Spanish people are of the nationality of SPAIN.

You said you were going to punch out the next person who called you "Spanish". It's not an ethnic slur and you are too much of a delicate flower if that offends you.
 
I didn't know Madonna was Spanish... I thought she simply was of Italian descent.

As for me I'm Italian and Mexican...

I am NOT spanish. I may speak Spanish but I am not of Spanish nationality. I speak English but that doesn't make me someone of English heritage.

You are so silly... Did you ever wonder WHY Mexicans speak Spanish... it's because they native Mexicans were integrated by Spanish settlers... and since Mexicans are partially Spanish because of their conquest by the Spanish that makes Mexicans Spanish. By now in Mexico ... there are hardly any "real" native Mexicans... (Aztecs or Mayans I honestly can't remember which)
