I don't know what's goin' on with her career right now, but she's a sweet girl. I remember that Punk'd episode on MTV where a fan got to win an opportunity for Mya to appear at his residence, and the fan happened to be an obsessed fan, but he really wasn't an obsessed fan at all, it was just a setup, but Mya was totally oblivious, and I remember she was just really sweet to him.

"Case Of The Ex" is classic. I think Mya is mostly known for that like how SWV is known for "Weak".

Sweet Jesus, I'm done! Word has it Mya's 'Liberation' album has been delayed yet again. The CD was re-scheduled to drop on September 18th, but it's release is now listed as 'TBD' (to be decided). I'm doubting if it'll ever see the light of day - which may actually be a blessing; as sources claim it sounded a mess. Mya really isn't in a good position and hasn't been for a while. I know she's been working on her new album for the past 2 years. But I heard on the Funkmaster Flex show that she got dropped from Interscope, so I'm not sure how that will affect things. I know she is still signed to Motown Records though.

Also, I heard she is releasing a tell-all book following in the steps of Superhead

Motown?! WTF?! Since when?! Mya is not a soul artist at all. She does R&B. I just wanna know when she got signed to that record label cause if I recall correctly, Moodring wasn't a Motown record!

Myá has been working on her fourth studio album on and off since 2004. Originally conceived as a project called Control Freak, the album's first version was actually scheduled for a summer 2005 release and involving main production by Scott Storch, Dr. Dre, Lil Jon, Rockwilder and songwriter Sean Garrett. Although she intended to release a dance track called "Let It Go" at a particular time, the singer eventually decided to leave A&M Records in fall 2005 before signing a new contract with Motown Records.

In the following months Mýa began consulting a few other producers to collaborate on the album, renamed Liberation, including Tim & Bob, Bryan Michael Cox, Jonathan "J.R." Rotem and Tricky Stewart. In mid-2006, however, a buzz single entitled "Ayo" was leaked onto the internet but due time-consuming "litigations, court, transitioning from label to label, teaching kids and building a studio". Liberation has been bumped from the schedule numerous times.

On March 5, 2007 the album's first single "Lock U Down," a Storch-produced collaboration with Lil Wayne, was sent to radio. The second single is Ridin' and has been released on July 10. The album was currently sheduled for a September 18, 2007 release but has been pushed back to November 14th as it says on her fan site.

I have always liked Mya and have always wondered she stays under the radar. her music great and is always different and inventive.

Mya has a nice voice, but it's really soft. She's a sound designer's nightmare live.
