What has changed, dream ticket almost certain.

That's not what I said.

In fact I said exactly the opposite: "That's not to say that she couldn't have a long productive career in the Senate if she wants that ..."

Thanks for reminding how Obama supporters support a position by mischaracterizing what people say.

Well, one tries to put the best face on things, doesn't one? But still, you're quite right that Sen. Clinton has the option of a long and productive career in the Senate.

Some just tell the truth.

And I think you and I have agreed on the part that's true, and it's not completely divorced from the point that Midnight Prism was making. If you want to take my recognition of Sen. Clinton's continuing potential for outstanding contributions in the Senate as "dismissive," then that is your problem. I am utterly shocked that anyone would suggest that a long and productive career in the Senate is beneath a politician's dignity or characterize as "dismissive" the hope that a politician has such a career in store.

And with that I shall henceforth try never to agree with you on anything ever again. If I slip up and accidently do agree with you about something, please assume that I was mistakenly just trying to be nice.

This article at Newsweek by Howard Fineman is interesting. Obama has to be very careful to at least ask Clinton to be VP and Clinton has to very carefully decline the invite.
But....
Clinton absolutely does NOT want the job of vice president
Obama, for his part, does not want her to be his vice presidential nominee.
Egg shells, egg shells abound.

That is one of the stupidest things I've seen in a long time.

What possible advantage could that have for anybody?

If Obama offers VP to Clinton and she turns him down she looks like a sore loser and cannot possibly help unite the party.

If Clinton turns down his offer, Obama suffers a public rejection, makes him look like he can't unite the party.

Then whomever Obama offers it to after that is second choice.

Fineman doesn't know what he's talking about. And I'm continually amazed at how undiscriminating people are about what they believe.

P. T. Barnum was right.

I think the exact opposite. I think he'd be crazy to ask her because she just might accept.

Hillary has stronger negatives than almost anybody in the country. There are tons of people who wouldn't vote for Obama if she was on the ticket.

And even if they somehow managed to win, isn't it obvious that she and Bill would make his life a living hell for the next four years? I don't think he's that dumb.

I was just putting it out there.
These are supposed people of both Hillary and Obama. He's damned if he does and damned if he don't. They say he offers it to her with the agreement she not accept, and not offering it to another woman makes Hillary look foolish.

I would say offering it to another woman makes Hillary look foolish. I'm not sure if that is what you meant to say or not.
