I've never lived alone, what have I missed? I never had a restroom or closet reserved for me, a lock for my bedroom, a kitchen with only items I enjoy, or control over heat/air conditioning. I have never had control over cable providers/packages, visitors, if any, and benefits unknown to me.

What have I missed? What do you enjoy living alone, if anything? When did you start to live alone?

I started living alone when I was about 23-24 (graduated college, moved in with a friend, and we lived together until he got married 4 years later).

I enjoy living alone and feel like everyone should do it at some point. it's a maturing experience, having to be responsible, take care of yourself, etc.

Apparently, the ability to jack off alone.

Has flexibility and affords certain freedoms that living together doesn't have. But, it can get old after some time. A pet is a solution especially a dog as they can give you some of the warm fuzzies one needs. Sorry, cats don't give that.

the ability to come home at 2AM with your latest flavor and have wild loud freaky butt sex in the living room/kitchen/dining room, etc.

...and not having to worry about your mom waking up and coming in and say "Hi sweetie...didn't know you had company"

I have never lived alone....I think I knew that already but I had to stop and think about it first.

The best thing is you get your own bathroom.

and you can walk around naked or in your undies.

But some people who live with others have their own bathroom and can walk around almost naked too.

^ Don't laugh. Group jack off is a lot of fun!

The downsides of living alone:

Neighbours and their unusual habits and annoyances, especially the paper thin walls and noises of footsteps, knocking of bedposts, toilet noises and sounds of family disputes, children and pet noises.
Having a job
Bills : gas, electric, water, building maintenance fee, food etc
Paying for your accomodation itself
Budgeting for all these and finding a deficit and having to decide if food or heating is more important.

What have you missed? You mean like quiet, solitude, peace..... the basic boredom stuff.

I think you have missed out on becoming and thinking like an adult.
