That, definitely, the key to my future, provided I ever were to have any at all, would not depend on being more "open" to the world, even less on having someone or something "supporting" me (sentimentally, financially, whatever, anything, everything), but on upgrading my ivory-tower vantage point over that world.
Forgot to add:

Otherwise, I may actually end up like a charwoman, and keep company to Hark!

You know that I am just one step up from a charwoman and I live in an Ivory Tower. That doesn't mean life is a bed of roses though.

I know, I know we are so very much alike... except for the taste in sculpture, and music and such...

Wait... I though you lived in an ivory basement? no... an ivory kennel?

Damn, today it will be a long day, with all that lack of sleep and sunny warm weather outside to make you even more drowsy: that should have been: "rescuing" me.

For the first time you reveal that you have a sense of humour rather than just a critical reply to everything.

Just when I had thought I might REALLY have hurt you.

Now YOU reveal you KEEP your sense of humor.

I have always appreciated and valued our communication from the very first day you sent me a comment.

True most of the time I don't understand what you are talking about and true that sometimes you get under my skin. But I miss you enormously when you take a break from JUB and honestly your presence brings a slight smile to my lips each day I see you logged in.

I wonder if you keep it... no... treasure it like Scrooge McDuck does with his First Cent, or you just keep a strong feeling coupled with a rather void content, because I am just dying to know what that might have been: mind you, you are talking, after all, about what you take as my first comment, not what it may actually have been the first one, so even if I did remember it, I couldn't be sure we are referring to the same thing.

1. No wonder, if you take me as a mere controversionalist, not as someone who takes on everything that is to be taken on, because nothing is perfect or, rather, beyond comment, on the ranting side or not.

2. Do you make me get under your skin about things I post that you do not understand?

But I miss you enormously when you take a break from JUB and honestly your presence brings a slight smile to my lips each day I see you logged in.

Isn't it a rather awful thing when you depend on someone else to make your own life more interesting?

Sorry I didn't mean to give you the impression that you were that important in my life. I like mundane familiarity and your presence here fulfils that.:D

Despite "missing" me "enormously" every year and then...

Of course, of course, I know I, like anything and anyone else, would always be second to Roro, and the fresh, juicy, manly tourists iwth hairy chests, and your crappy sculptures, and your trips with friends, and...

Useful in death as in life, a "bull's pizzle".

Well that was educational. Who would have thought a bull's penis would be so adaptable and sought after.

Very informative is the corresponding German article: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ochsenziemer
The bull pizzle was formerly used to punish people and animals […]. In horse racing, such as the Palio di Siena, it's still used.

The effect of the shock is significant and can cause severe injury. Bull pizzles were used, inter alia, in the Dachau and Mauthausen concentration camps to mistreat prisoners.
(crappy translation = mine, sorry)

"Bull pizzles were used, inter alia, in the Dachau and Mauthausen concentration camps to mistreat prisoners."

Suddenly they don't seem so amusing.

On the other hand: in all probability the concentration camp guards used EVERY conceivable item to torture the prisoners…

Bennett, Turner and Dee looked exactly [STRIKE]the same[/STRIKE] as old back in 1965...
