There is a VW ad that whose background depicts part of a district in my town:

I SWEAR that I recognize a scene, from a location about two thousand miles from me, in a certain national ad. I'll have to look for myself when I pass by that location in early Fall...or perhaps use Google Street View.

I've never seen an ad showing any kind of location that I could recognize, within a few miles of where I lived. But, then, living in small towns near Ann Arbor, and in Toledo OH, and a small city in western Ill-Annoy, those aren't exactly relevant to most ad footage. It depends on where you live.

If somebody lives in New York City [Manhattan, especially near Times Square] or San Francisco [hilly sections], chances are good that commercials will show things near to you over and over. Those aren't the only places, of course...Paris, London, tokyo are pretty common in ads as well.

I will never be "normal" but I suppose that I should be used to it by now.

However, my weirdness does surprise me at times.

It's true if you live in cities that have developed policies to attract the advertising industry... there are tons of ads by international brands having been filmed in BCN for the past fifteen or twenty years, and even that location I was talking about has been shown on TV ads: what I found funny is that it appeared, not in a goofy commercial of guys making races between cars and horses, but in a "stylish" ad on the front page of the Frankfurter.

However, you do not necessary need to live there to recognize a place featured in advertising films and pictures, do you...

That today is 03 June 2014

We all have less than 10000 weeks to live.

I have realised that I must retire at the first possible moment that it is feasible. Money is no longer the most important factor and all I need is for one of my flats to become empty so that I have somewhere to live.

What do you mean "one of your flats"? you have squatters in your flats in Monaco?

No! All my properties are rented with long leases so I can't just throw the people out I have to give them 6mths notice before the end of the lease. But they can leave with just a month's notice.

If one decides to leave I will seriously think of retiring and going to live in the free property. But that depends on them not me, thus the undecided nature of if I can retire before 11/2015

"East 71st street"..: I borrowed the movie and the subtitles were very literal to the script. What, it may be supposed to be so, but doesn't necessarily always happen... because it doesn't have to
