There is nothing I miss about using a PC when I am on my Mac. Can't say the same when I'm using a PC.

To address your issue, if you hold the "fn" key at the same time as the delete key, you will end up with what you are wanting.

At least that is what I think you are wanting.

I miss the simple F7 spellcheck. The Mac version of spellcheck just seems to be cumbersome and I've never mastered it.

But that's about where it ends. I would take my Mac to bed if I could :D..|

any of the keys on a mac are configurable by modifying the keyboard map.

No delete key? I have a delete key...and I'm not afraid to use it :D

[re-reads post] Oh, you just said you had a macbook, didn't you? #-o

OK so I have a delete key but I'm still jealous ;)

I remembered something else today at work on my PC. I miss hitting ESc to close an email, I don't like having to use the mouse to click on the red close button. But maybe a more skilled Mac operator can tell me how to close an email with a keyboard command? :-)

Guys, spend some time to learn the quick keys.
Apple + w will close most pages.
Apple + q closes most app's.

I miss the delete key too. I find it adds insult to injury that the backspace key is actually called the delete key on a Mac. At least on this mac. They have an annoying habit of messing with the keyboard layout with each new machine they release.

^Maybe, but my old mouse is a USB wireless mouse, so I would have needed to install it, blah blah blah.

Point is that it is a major oversight for Apple to not have included a hardware-based emergency eject mechanism for the media drive.

Snow Leopard is supposed to be better at handling ejection, according to Apple. I wonder if the improvements would have helped in your situation...

I guess I don't care about the hard eject button, provided they make the system not go into some kind of endless loop.

i miss the normal right click. iv had three laptops and im ony 20. i am on my 1st mac, and its a macbook. im in school i deff fell trendy lol. i have windows on mine. but i have a real reason. i know mac users get offender when mac have windows. but im a architect major and i need auto C.A.D. but mac is the 1st option in bootcamp. so many people in my classes get amazed that i have auto cad on a mac. i love it for notes and battery life. it's just missing the normal right click. yes i use the two finger tap thing but it's not the same

The apple mouse has right click if you want to enable it, but i don't think they have that option for the button on the track pad... oh well now, the trackpad is the button anyway on the newest macs. i like the finger gestures, but I do miss the delete button...

Umm, can I ask what may be a really dumb question, which key is the "Apple"? Do you mean"Command"?

Hi Dobson - the Apple key is the key to the left of the space bar. It has an Apple icon on it.

On my keyboard the "apple" key is the "command" key. And I've tried it and yes, "command + W" shuts the window. Not as simple as "Esc" on a PC but still better than what I'd used. Thanks, Jack!

I've found the Mac spell check far superior to Windows spell check. I love the universal spell checking which automatically checks spelling in any application you use. Any application you type in and it works.

I miss not having to constantly use the keyboard to accomplish task.

I miss the lack of Numeric Keypad functionality that Mac Book Pros used to have - there's no easy way to replicate Numpad keys any more.

Yeah, I use a bluetooth keyboard when I'm working with software that requires numpad features. But on my old Powerbook, I could just turn on a replicated numpad using other keys on the keyboard. That feature has been removed.
