What is Hot Topics?

If I was new to JUB, and I didn't know what the 'Hot Topics' forum was; how would you describe it to me?

How would you promote the forum in an effort to get me to post?

I just want to know what different people think of 'Hot Topics'

Hot Topics contains every random thought that attention seeking juveniles, chronic bitchers and complainers, trolls/bloggers and/or the chronically mentally fragile think will get anyone at all in the world to PAY ATTENTION TO THEM as well as thoughtful, provocative and utterly amusing bits of information and observations posted by everyone else.

ok, maybe it isn't a train wreck. it is something of a melting pot with all of these various topics, ideas and discussions. a few are topical, some are silly and others are pretty much 'anything goes.'

its really hard to nail down a good descriptor because it can be all over the place.

Broadly speaking topics that are of interest in general not just gay issues.

Nothing whatsoever to do with the U.S.Presidential Election or the Candidates or American Politics in any way that give the rest of us who are not American an avenue of escape from the never ending political onslaught dished out in the media and C.E.&P.

For me, Hot Topics is a place where my threads could get enough attention if I want them to. As we all could see, the celebrity forum slways have the most viewers, that why we put threads there even when they're actually not about celebrities but celebrities' movies or music.

However, if our topic has nothing to do with celebrity that we couldn't put it in celebrity forum, then Hot Topics could help us, because it usually has the most viewers after the celebrity one among non-adult sections. More viewers mean more attention, sometimes I find that if we post strictly according to the forum catogories, our threads won't get enough attention, for only a few people view the politics section and sport section. And I guess that's why people prefer talk about the Olympics in Hot Topics rather than in Sports.
