I was just wondering what would be the best way to clean A computer screen without damaging it?.... I just bought A new laptop. So I was kinda wondering what was the best way to clean it?.... And if I could just simply take windex, and paper towels, or A cloth, or whatever and clean it like that?.....So yeah just curious what was the best way to do it?

Thanks everyone!

I use this for my screen, the cloth is pretty nice I got it at Target for $11.99. I use it for my monitor and my Mac laptop. I have tried many screen cleaning products but this one hardly leaves the shit that most other cleaning products leave behind.

I would NEVER use windex cause it could damage the screen since its most likely used for windows and not computer screens.

Everyone says never use Windex.

Having said that, I have used nothing but Windex for the past decade, and I have never noticed any problem whatsoever.

Windex works.

Lens Cleaner (for eye glasses) and a soft cotton cloth is my choice.
I've had paper toweling scratch finishes and screens before.

Do not spray directly on the laptop, or its screen. It could run into spots that might let the smoke out.

Rather, spray the cloth 'til damp and then wipe the laptop down.

Do NOT use anything with Ammonia, alcohol, or acid, like vinegar. Do what Gamebear did and get a screen cleaner from an electronics store or such. The above chemicals can damage the layer of plastic. Also use the screen cleaner of your LCD and Plasma TV's. There are anti-glare coatings on those screens that can be damaged. Also use a microfiber cloth. They usually come with the screen cleaners.

The spray I use doesn't at all leave streaks, I also try not to use these because they leave really bad streaks. Hubby used these on his Macbook Pro and I can still see the streaks and its just ugh...

If you really don't care about paying money use Windex but like West said don't use alcohol or ammonia liquids and I'm pretty positive Windex has that.

That's what I was going say. Windex works just fine. What you don't want to do is spray it on the screen and let it drip down to the bottom so that it seeps inside the monitor. Spray it on the cloth first, then clean the screen.

Well thank you very much everybody. And especially you Gamerbear. I actually went out and
bought one of those cleaning sprays that you mentioned, and I just tried it on my laptop and your right it works really well it got the screen very clean. So I think that I'm gonna start buying this stuff from now on to clean my screens. Thanks!..|

Good to hear that it worked, I brought it with me back home from California and I just got myself a new laptop will definitely use it.
