Every so often the meat dept. at my supermarket puts out bacon ends, unbranded and store-wrapped, for $2.99 a pound. The quality varies wildly from occasion to occasion.
I really got lucky this last time around. Nice and smoky and not too salty. Mmmm. (I baked them.)

That doesn't surprise me. And I bet that those cookies are mixed with 20% of secret emulsifiers (which, as you know, are designed to trick the brain).
The worse thing about bacon is you have to spend five minutes with a sharp knife stripping out the thin strips of genuine meat from the thick strips of PURE FAT.
