  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What is the WORST state in the USA?

tell you what bucko, you just keep your snotty little ass in brisbane.

it is apparent by your posting that you have little/no couth and your slam of the west coast of the country only betrayed your ignorance of the geographical delights to be found there.

the west coast is 'laid back' as compared to the east coast, probably because the weather is the same 'relaxed'. middle america has gorgeous scenery, fabulous destinations and is food basket to much of the world.

your belligerent attitude and negative comments came as a surprise. the aussies i know all have much better manners and more class than you've displayed this date.

JUST STAY HOME and everybody will be happy.

BTW, we don't have a worst state, each one has its' own special charms and attractions.

That's such an ignorant statement, it really bothers me. The "middle" is what produces nearly all of the nations food supply and billions of dollars of various food exports to the rest of the world.

What does Australia have to offer? Endless miles of desert? Blistering heat and nothingness?

Ugh, just :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:
gee you guys are so nice  i mean seriously

if you want to have a go at him fine but dont start slaging of at oz K

Please tell me you are joking! I was in Baltimore for 4 years and could barely find a hot guy! I found the hottest one I could, stole him away and moved him to Philadelphia!

:spank: :slap: Give me a break. It ain't like Filthy Philly is filled with Adonis's.

I remember driving through Oklahoma when I was a kid and being bored stupid.

i'm sure there are very nice people there.

but all I saw was corn fields or something.

This is a good thread! I drove around the country a lot and agree, the middle doesn't have much to offer, seems like endless corn fields. Cross the border into Nebraska you find Omaha and Lincoln next to each other then, the land of Little House on the Prairie. Stop and spend some time and you might find some of the best people in the country located in "the middle".

As for Delaware? How can I judge a state when all I see of it is from I-95? A few miles of highway and a bridge? It seems as if every bank is headquartered in Delaware, does that mean anything?

Colorado is a great state. Plenty to do in Denver, and the Rockies? What can I say.

The worst state? Well depends on where your from and what your looking for. Driving with Mass plates in Texas got me in trouble, that "yankee thing" and since Bush calls it home, I have to put my vote there. Did have fun in Houston though, never been to Austin yet, on the list.

I've been to Perth and Sydney and think Sydney is quite a bit like Boston, and Perth is similar to San Diego. Haven't been to "the middle" of Oz but won't claim its all desert and sheep.

I wouldn't dare to make a choice, as I have been only twice in the US and visited only three or four states.
But I was given a definition by a very nice Newyorker in a gay bar in SoHo : "In America there are only the two coasts, forget the rest, and up there, is a very nice National Park called Canada".

I just wonder what sort of reaction this judgement - not mine - will get ?

Probably South Carolina. And whoever said Montana is crazy; that state is great.

I live literally right in the middle of the USA and as far as my home state goes, it's not too bad compared to Oklahoma. If I ever thought Kansas was super crazy Christian and homophobic, it's nothing compared to psycho Oklahoma LOL. As much as people hate Texas (for some weird reason; is it because Bush is from there???) I actually really enjoy heading down there for fun with friends. I LOVE Dallas and I've been to St. Antonio a few times. Plus, Texas boys are hot LOL! Overall, it's not bad living in the "heart" of the country. ..|

I've lived in Mississippi, Alabama, and Missouri.

Mississippi is definitely at the bottom of my list.

i've heard OK sucks, but i've never lived outside of MO.

I've heard MO sucks but I've never actually been there. See how stupid that sounds?;)

I remember driving through Oklahoma when I was a kid and being bored stupid.

i'm sure there are very nice people there.

but all I saw was corn fields or something.

EASY Jasun! lol Tread lightly my friend.:pOh and there's not that much corn in Oklahoma.lol

Oklahoma (for me) is a little creepy. Other than having their vasectomies reversed and going to church, I don't know what people do there! ;)
.

I'll let you in on a little secret. KAY?

we grow the wheat that makes your bread.
We farm the cows that you eat.
we farm cotton that makes your clothes.

We are just good honest folk. That just want to make a living for our families.

and as for me, Oklahoma is where I was born and I love it here.

I am a small part of the reason that you have gas to put into your cars everyday. Oklahoma on the other hand is a large producer of Americas oil. So the next time you run across an Okie shake his hand and say thanks for the gas.lol

as for what state I dislike. Well it'ld have to be New York. I spent two months there last winter and not once did I ever hear anyone say thank you when I held a door open, or excuse me when they bumped into me. I'm sure it's not like that with everyone there but the impression that i got from new york is that everyone is in to big of a hurry to be polite so it's just a bunch of rude people.

I think that some people are taking this post too seriously. I'm assuming that this is just for fun...and that it should not be taken seriously.

If I was going to take a guess, it would probably be a state that you don't every hear anything about very often, like Alabama.

It would have to be one of the backward red states for sure! Hmmm....which State has that big statue of liberty with a cross? Or what about the state with a museum (with over $20 million in funding) that teaches how man lived with the dinosaurs.

worst state Missouri. only because they wanted me to eat catfish and grits..:grrr::grrr:

Shush dear, don't have a fuss. I'll have your [STRIKE]spam[/STRIKE] catfish. I love it,
I'm having catfish, catfish, catfish, catfish, catfish, catfish, catfish, grits, catfish, catfish, catfish and catfish!

There really isn't a "worst" state, but there are many questionable places...
  • Youngstown, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan are the true dffinitions of the term "rust belt" They have soooo many empty factories and steel mills!
  • Downtown Youngstown (Federal Street) is a literal ghost town.
  • Buffalo, NY is in financial disaster, as is Erie County.
  • Rural West Virginia is not a place I'd personally like to find myself in at night.
  • Central Florida (off of the interstate paths) is definitely "old South."
  • I love the New England states, but I hate their road signs... (especially in the State of Maine...love the lobster, hate the direction signs!)
  • The city of Las Vegas has no suburbs. It truly is desert outside of the city limits.
  • New Jersey, in the area between Newark Airport and New York City really does have a chemical smell...
  • The state of New York has the poorest excuses for rest areas along it's interstates (that is...if you can find any rest areas)
  • Interstate 90 in Pennsylvania (The Amvets Memorial Highway) near Erie is perpetually under construction, and has been for the past 40 years.
  • Driving through Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa can be difficult tasks, because the scenery changes very little (all flat farming areas)

From all the states I've visited, which is over half of them, the worst one was North Dakota. Their population is less than the population of the city I live in and the most interesting thing about the place was numbered mountains. We drove from Fargo to Bismarck to Minot to the border to get to Edmonton and it was horrible. We even spent the night in Bismarck. They had a mall. That's about it.

On the way back we decided we would travel through Manitoba and then down to Fargo rather than going through the whole state. That was really boring too.

Buffalo, NY is in financial disaster, as is Erie County.
Haha, Buffalo seems like a really boring place but we go there quite often to shop. I'm probably going there on Black Friday to get in on some deals. Oh and the chicken wings are good.

I'm surprised people havn't said Tennessee is a bad state... only because i hear that alot. I actually like living in Tennessee... it's really nice.

Though when I got off for pharmd school, i hope to go to some school in like Seattle or something - just to see if how I like living away from home
