Now it's know that for some people. They hate Homosexuality because they don't understand them.

My thing is what is there to understand? and WHY do we need to be understood? Gay people are people that have a natural attraction to the same sex. Why is that so hard to get? and WHY do people need to get it?

All this talk about WHY we're gay..genetics, birth, all of that...why does it matter? Why do I(or any other gay person for that matter) need a reason to be gay? Since when do I have to Justify my existince to anyone?(If the whole justifying thing doesn't make since in what I'm trying to say please forgive me.)

Can't people let us have our right and leave us alone?

(I hope all of this made sense.)

Why are you trying to justify your existence to anyone again?

I know what your talking about straight guys never have to say their straight we need to explain we're gay and why

I'm not actually. But often times it feels like we as gay people are expected to justify our existence and tell people WHY we're gay and I've never understood that. It's like we're not allowed to just be PEOPLE.

Here's a conversation I have a lot of the time.

"Would you like some chocolate cake?"
"I'm actually not a huge fan of chocolate."
"WHAT!? How can that be? How can you not like chocolate?"
"I don't know. I just have never been much of a fan."
"Did something happen when you were little? Did you eat too much chocolate and get sick? Or did your mother spank you for eating chocolate?"
"No, just never really liked it that much."
"Well, you need to try MY chocolate cake. Once you try MY chocolate cake, THEN you'll be a fan."

Sound familiar?

fuck them. i say we throw back the hate straight people throw at us and call it a day.

People will always find reasons to hate on others, black, white, gay, straight, rich, poor, christan, jewish, muslim or anything in between.

But its not just straights either. I can't tell you how many times I've gone on grindr and seen "No Fats, Fems, or Asians" (I'll never understand why people hate so much on Asians, I love em, they'er amazing ^.^)

I feel like everything I've said is really tired and overstated so sorry everyone! >.<

Minorities of any kind, be it African-Americans, Muslims, women, or gays, can and have been looked down upon or treated harshly because they're different than the majority entity. What's different is unknown and, for some people, what's unknown is scary.

I get what you're saying and it would be great if we lived in a world where gay people weren't judged or treated differently, but we aren't. At least not yet. I think our community's efforts to educate people about homosexuality--that it isn't a choice, that not all gay people are cross-dressers or pedophiles just like all straight people aren't adulterers or wife-beaters--are efforts to get them to open their minds, to have facts overcome fears, and to get them to a point of acceptance, even if that wasn't how they were raised, for example.

(Wow, do I sound like a Miss America contestant? Also, world peace. Thank you!)

I get that sentiment completely - which is why I had to break out of it. Not worth thinking about if I know myself.
