  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What is your favorite flower?

I used to live near this little grocer that stocked the most beautiful bunches of orchids, and I've always loved them. So delicate.

I also have a soft spot for magnolia blossoms :)

I think Fireweed is my favourite...I don't know if it's technically considered a weed or a flower, but it sure is purdy..|

Mine's pretty obvious. ;)

I like those fake roses you get at the gas stations where it's actually a pair of lacey panties, or the ones at spencer's that's made from a condom:D, lol.
no, actually I'm not really a flower person, give me a cactus or a bonsai, lol

Wild Flowers

If any likes native flowers Come on down to Western Australia in the spring. We are the wild flower state. Second only to the fields of South Africa. We probably have a greater variety though.....find a site and check them out...won't be dissapointed...

I don't really have a favorite, but I really like Kermit Chrysanthemums:

Having been a brief part owner of a flower shop I love them all, but the fragrance of Stargazer Lilies and Gardenias are wonderful. One of my favorite tasks was to go to the wholesalers and order/pickup the flowers.

I'd definitely have to say my favorite flower is the Orchid. They're a bitch to grow though.
that's sooo untrue; orchids are actually quite tenacious plants, and take a fair bit of abuse. I have a dendrobium about the size of my thumb that has half a dozen stalks, none more than two inches long. Every spring when my orchids go back outside, it'll eventually put out a few leaves, which inevitably drop off inside the house in the dead of winter. It's still alive, though, and I can't bear to throw it out.

I know its not technically a flower, but the Venus Fly Trap is by far the coolest carnivorous plant on the planet.

OK, its the only one!

maybe i just need to take it over to the nearest poop thread...

It depends on the season. Right now it's tulips. At the moment the living room is filled with them. I love tulips in every stage of bloom and the fact that they keep growing in the vase.

As the seasons move on I find it hard to resist buying huge bouquest of or growing daffodils, hyacinths, amaryllis, irises, alliums, lilacs, peonies, dahlia's, Calla's, hemerocallis, roses, larkspur, hydrangea, ornamental grasses, crocosmia, monkshood, phlox, Echinacea, salvia's, clematis the list is endless. Few things give me more pleasure than growing them and/or taking pics of them. But the one that always lifts my spirits and brings a smile to my face is the Rudbeckia.
