I've noticed that there are several regular contributors to this forum who speak English as a foreign language. They include a Netherlander (you know who you are, sir!) who actually apologises for his faulty English even though he writes it more clearly than some members who seem to be native speakers.
So if your first language isn't English, what is it? Could there be members who are so fluent that we don't even suspect that they are foreign?

Mine is Dutch. But i don't think I have trouble speaking or writing English. I've been watching English TV-shows since i was 10. :p

Well Belamo of Spain is amazing.

His knowledge of language and culture is amazing.

First Language is Italian.......did not speak a word of English until I was five.

Now I very rarely speak Italian.

Sad really.

French also.

I speak french at home, but i watch TV in both french and english, and I work using both languages.

Its me ;) and you might consider Dutch as my first language. My English has a much lower level compared to people who are native speakers (Canadians, Brits, US citizens, etc.) and the my level is also lower compared to alot of other Dutch people who have Dutch as their native language. I don't have trouble to speak and to read English, but I am very well aware that the level is limited.

Shhhh, you're wonderful just the way you're. I reckon everyone from Groningen is super nice, at least, the ones I met.

I speak Mandarin until I was 5.

^How often do you have to warn people that you might be killed as a consequence of your actions? That seems like a strange example to give. ;~)

Born in Houston. Mexican parents. First language: Spanish. All through school: English. Know a bit more English than Spanish but consider myself fluent in both.
