What killed the Electric Car in the 1900's?

^ The intent is to upgrade the power grids as well. (They need it anyway.) I believe there was money in the infrastructure bill to get that started. ^

How do the cars make out during the extreme winter and summer.
I don't know, but I have to think the batteries won't handle some winters very gracefully. Batteries, as a whole, don't like cold.

This is a photo of the 1899 Lohner-Porsche Mixed Hybrid car with four hub-mounted electric motors.

I am fortunate to live at a time when electric vehicles stage a comeback thanks to technical advancements in the 21st century. My only concern is the push by governments around the world forcing EV's due to concerns over greenhouse emissions. The estimate by the Environmental Protection Agency is a 10% to 14% reduction in greenhouse gases if every automobile on Earth was all-electric today.

Changing the car you drive won't be enough to solve our pollution problem.

We should have had real size Scalextric...

I'm right with you!

Nikola Tesla said that electricity doesn't need wires, he believed in "broadcast electricity" through the air and he championed wireless charging in the 19th century!

What you're proposing is called a "smart road" using dynamic vehicle charging. If you can charge a phone wirelessly, do the same with an electric car.
