I like to listen to a radio station that plays oldies, like the 70´s and 80´s.

Mine plays oldies, like songs from the 70´s and 80´s. Love those songs.

Re: What kind of music does your favorite radio station play?

I listen to Satellite radio most of the time. XM radio has a station called 'Flight 26' which plays '90s to present day music.

News.

I don't listen to music much, so 90% of the time the radio station in my car is tuned to the local news broadcast.

Re: What kind of music does your favorite radio station play?

I only listen to the radio while driving, so always country

Country, when I'm drving, and classical, for everything else.

...God I'm a dork. :help:

I only listen to the raido at work. sometimes top fourty *like once a week* , usually it's light rockish stuff.

Mostly I listen to radio on the way to work, and I listen to to the local "Radio Free Wease" morning show on WCMF, Rochester's classic rock station. It used to be the premier rock station in town, but they don't play much new stuff, just the same stuff they've been playing fror the last three decades. That was how they became classic!

All classical, all the time. I play it constantly, even while sleeping. When the fund drives start, I switch to good jazz until the funding stuff ends.

i only listen to npr..if i want music, i plug in my ipod

There are no good radio stations here in S.A. Well, we at least have our NPR affiliate, a pretty good classical station and one of the best jazz stations in the nation. Everything else is pretty shitty.

Re: What kind of music does your favorite radio station play?

They suck!

They ALL suck, these days.

(Thanks a LOT 'Clear Channel', you soulless, tone deaf evil corporate bastards)

The only 'almost OK' station down here is 102.5, ('the BONE'...seriously)
Who I used to work for back in my 'I wanna be a DJ phase)

And even THEY seem to be stuck in the early 80's. AC/DC a plenty, lots of Floyd, lots of Van Halen...

That kind of crap...as if people stopped growing musically 20 years ago.

I mean, *really*...Does ANYONE need to hear 'Sweet Home Alabama' one more fucking time.... ("Turn it up !" No, bitch, turn it OFF)

"And we'll be right back after this commercial break with the 'latest' from Billy Squire and Molly Hatchet ! "

Gads.

I usually listen to my own music, but I've a few radio stations I like to listen to every now and then:
Nashville FM - Modern and classic country
City FM - 70's/80's rock
3FM - Public broadcast youth channel; bit of rock, bit of pop

Oh, and Last.fm, Pandora and LaunchCast are a godsend. (!)

I pretty much listen to music radio only on the internet...

WCBN Ann Arbor
WFMU Jersey City
WPON Detroit

First two play mostly free-form music which can range from gospel to noise, punk rock to ambient, reggae, synth, etc.

WPON, when they're playing "oldies," often plays unusual stuff not ordinarily played by the oldies stations

Classical. Mostly I listen to the local classical station, KDFC. But in all truth, I don't listen to it that much, they're sort of a background noise. I sleep with the radio on, so it has to be very background-y.

In the car I mostly listen to a dance-music station, Energy 92.7... when I listen to the radio at all, which is seldom. I mostly listen to mixed CDs I made myself... I get the most eclectic sounds that way.

COUNTRY... I know I know, but it's the only decent station around here

Normally only listen to XM, and I flip between the categories. When driving, 98% of the time, I'm listening to my iPod.

The only station I have listened to for the past 20 years plays only Classical music 24/7.

93.1 KCBS in Los Angeles used to be an awesome 70s rock station. Clear Channel turned it into JACK FM, which is ok. They have some variety, but not enough for me to listen to it consistently.

93.9 KZLA was a great country station, but its format was changed to urban music, featuring Rick Dees as the morning host. I don't care for it at all.

The only country station I can pick up is KFRG from the inland empire, but it isn't clear, as I drive along the coast to get to work.

103.5 KOST is adult contemporary (read easy listening) and I listen to it mostly at work. It is kinda slow, nothing too loud or flashy and the students hate it, so they don't stay in my office too long! :)

I tend to make myself CDs to listen to in the car. Though, I am considering getting HD radio, if the prices on the receivers go down.

The only station i listen to out here is 98.1 KISS FM
They play mostly R&B oldies..........Lots and lots of MOTOWN
