On a porn site I saw a guy with practically no body hair referred to as a bear. He was stocky. Would you consider him a bear? I always thought bears were hairy and stocky.
 
I would have thought hairy is pretty typical of bears, although there are plenty of bear chasers and admirers who may be smooth with a thin or muscular build, but simply have a preference for beefy, furry, stocky bears. Maybe the guy you saw on the porn site decided to shave for whatever reason?
 
If he's on a porn site and called a bear, he's a bear. Just like if I'm on a porn site and called a thug, obviously that's what I am.

To answer seriously, the only thing I know about twinks is that they're supposed to be young, yet everything is a twink nowadays. So who actually follows the script anymore?
 
As long if you aren't AND thin AND hairless AND without facial hair you can probably get away with presenting yourself as a bear these days.

I agree. I think being stocky is a bigger qualifier for "bear" label than just a hairy back. If a guy is skin and bones but harrier than Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, it's not a bear, more of an otter.

Definition of a bear: "In gay culture, a Bear is a large, hairy man who projects an image of rugged masculinity" In other words, a gay person that doesn't look after himself and accepts looking like a hobo.
 
If you have Netflix go watch Bear City. It will explain a lot about the culture and it's a fun movie also. I think it is wonderful how our community has so many diverse sub-cultures. They are all interesting and everyone can find their place in our world. No, bears are not gay guys that don't take care of themselves, my lord, where does one come up with this crap.

Excuse me, but being a bear is not some different form of 'culture'. It's just stocky (the equivalent of calling girls curvy, but means FAT) dudes with hairy backs who hang around with each other because we live in a time where cavemen are undesirable. Bears = acting as straight as possible.
 
Some guys just don't grow body hair. Maybe it's genetic.

And then there's me. I like the "bear" type. Although I have the hairy chest and I'm not remotely a twink...I don't feel real comfortable at "bear" events. Maybe if I knew more people there it would be different...and, too, I hate growing my beard in! It's just not right for me...ages me by years.

On a night out, one of the gays in the group got called a bear by someone random twinkies. He was mortified, as he should be. Most people don't find being called a bear a compliment. And actually Moufofkhaos i am right. I think i know more than you darling.

Culture: beliefs, customs of a particular group or part of society. Part of society that has its own beliefs and way of life.
Excuse me, but they have their own bars, private clubs, and way of life. That is a culture.
I've come to the conclusion reading numerous of your post in other threads that you are either a troll or a total mess.
