When really sarcastic/jaded/pissed-off people say some sardonic one-liner. It just makes me smile.

I have been traveling for the last couple of days, and was unable to access JUB until this evening when I returned home.

I was able to see my dad and step-mum while I was traveling, and my dad (a very formal, very kind, but slightly stiff man) gave me a hug as I left this morning.

It made me smile all day.

Thanks for the outstanding, and moving, posts.

Knowing that someone, somewhere, made someone else smile all day. :-)

When a customer at my supermarket comes over to me and thanks me for being hard working and always helpful. The little gestures of appreciation really make me smile, because it comes from the heart.

The sound and joy of children talking to each other or their parents and then when they laugh.

A little boy of about 3-4 years old today kept saying something out loud in the parking garage this morning at the doctor's office. The echo was fantastic - and he liked the sound - and he kept saying the same phrase and his mum was repeating it - i just stood there and watched and listened to him and not only was i smiling but he had me laughing - it was absolutely one of the most priceless things i have ever seen or heard a child do and he was having so much fun impressing himself with his powers.(*8*) (*8*) (*8*) (*8*) (*8*) (*8*)

I have not been able to forget that sound and that litle boy all day today and i am still laughing about the whole incident.(*8*) (*8*) (*8*)

and right now the local village idiot has something rather serious on his mind due to something happening next week. but it all vanishes when i think of that little boy. (*8*)

Great to see :D

What makes me happy? Cliché: the kindness of strangers. Nice people. Hugs from friends. Small things of life.

Young children and their innocence about the world around them...

And of course him...

I discovered last week that watching my parents together, watching them ballroom dancing or just talking to one another makes me incredibly happy...

I love my parents.
