Whether it's 34% or 32%, it's still one-third in round numbers. I imagine your other costs have absorbed any small saving on rent.

There is big talk about us on SSDI getting a 5.9% pay increase. The biggest in years. In reality my helper payments and other things went up so much I will have less money than if I didn't get any raise.

Back in the 1990's my partner and I converted our 54 unit building into a non-profit co-op because we had over 30% of our residents paying more than 60% of their income in rent.

After conversion, residents only paid a maximum of 30% in housing charges.
